- Billing Displacement: Michelle Rodriguez is featured prominently on the poster and in the trailers, even though her character dies roughly fifteen minutes into the movie.
- Enforced Method Acting: Ron Yuan suffers from vertigo. For the scene where he's hanging out the window, the reactions on his face are natural. Justin Lin in the DVD Commentary said that he really wanted to get this scene done since they were losing the natural lighting. He jokingly threatened to hang Ron himself if he didn't do the shot right away.
- No Stunt Double: Because of her military background, Gal Gadot was allowed to do some of her own stuntwork.
- The Other Darrin:
- In the French dub, Frédéric van den Driessche has replaced Guillaume Orsat as Dom Toretto since this film.
- In the Latin Spanish dub, Idzi Dutkiewicz has replaced Salvador Delgado and Carlos del Campo as Dom since this film. The same happens with Jesús Barrero as Brian, Pilar Escandón as Letty and Óscar Flores as Han, who had been also replaced by Ricardo Tejedo, Erica Edwards and José Gilberto Vilchis respectively.
- Role Reprise: Despite the recasts, Mayra Arellano still got to play Mia for the entire franchise's run.
- Release Date Change: Due to Universal Pictures moving the release date up from June 12 to April 3rd, composer Brian Tyler only had three days to record the orchestral score.
- Uncredited Role: David Ayer did uncredited rewrites.
