  • Acting for Two:
    • For the TV movie
      • Mark Hamill voices both Hiro's father King Karuta and Avere's father King Blackyard.
      • Candi Milo likewise voices both Hiro's mother and Avere's mother, Queen Karuta and Queen Blackyard respectively.
      • Rove McManus voices the main trio of Hiro, John, and Max, as well as secondary characters Lionel and Coach Coach.
      • Marg Downey voices Peg, Happy Peach Flower, and the school's drama teacher.
      • Patrick Crawley voices the biology teacher and the "real" exchange student Hiro.
      • Two of the anime girls are voiced by Natalie Bond and Kate McLennan, who also voice Lucinda and Charity respectively.
    • For the TV series
      • Rove McManus continues to voice both Hiro and Max, as well as Coach Coach and Stinky.
      • Jacqueline Brennan voices Queen Blackyard, Avere, Happy Peach Flower, Queen Karuta

      • Ashleigh Ball voices both Charity and Peg.
  • Cross-Regional Voice Acting: Whereas the movie used a mixture of Australian and American voice actors, the TV series switches out many of the American roles for Canadian leads.
  • The Danza: In the Japanese dub, Hiro is voiced by Hiro Shimono.
  • Descended Creator: Series co-creator Patrick Crawley voices the biology teacher and the "real" Hiro in the movie. In the TV series, he also voices Papa Rainbow, Zoobooninian the Enlightened, and Doolsworth Farnstickle.
  • No Export for You: Besides Australia (including New Zealand), the TV Movie and series to be ever seen elsewhere was/is in some parts of Asia like Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. All in Cartoon Network.
  • The Other Darrin: Some characters from the TV series are given new voice actors who are mostly not of Australian origin, given that the series is now set in America. In some places, even the TV Movie has been redubbed by the very same voice actors working in the series.
  • Role Reprise: Rove McManus (as Hiro and Max) and Scott Edgar (as Principal Rogerson) are the only voice actors from the movie who return for the series in their original roles.
