Trivia / Ernie Kovacs

• What Could Have Been:
  • Kovacs was actually the third choice to host Take a Good Look. Mike Wallace was offered the position first, but the result was deemed too dull. It was only after second choice George Burns declined that Kovacs was approached to host.
  • Kovacs was originally cast in the 1962 comedy The Notorious Landlady, in a role that went to Fred Astaire after his death. According to rumour he was also supposed to be in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, in a role that ended up going to Sid Caesar.
