From the visual novel:

  • Divorced Installment: The visual novel was pitched as part of Blackgate's canon, but has very early on established itself as its own thing in a more mundane setting. Relics of this origin can be seen both here and in Adastra (2018), where the supernatural Big Bad from each takes heavily inspiration from Blackgate's Eternal.
  • Magnum Opus Dissonance: It is the flagship work of the Echo Project and its verse is more extensively worked on, and yet it remains considerably less popular than Adastra (2018).
  • Reclusive Artist: While most of the various writers and staff members have social media and presence there, zero is known about the main project head, "Howly". He is known to be in a relationship with "Zeke the Tiger" (notable for being Malcolm Ray's fursona; this is supported by the Twitter account occasionally retweeting from him) and that he "usurped" control of the discord server from the patreon creator "Injy"... and that's it.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The original pitch for the game back when it was a sub-project of Blackgate shows several differences to the final project; Leo's name was apparently "Jake", Carl & TJ were a coyote and a bobcat (instead of a ram and a Canadian lynx) respectively, Flynn didn't even exist and TJ is described as "cool".
    • Even further back than that, developer Q&A sessions have stated that Jenna was originally planned to be a camp gay male fox, rather than a tomboyish female one; additionally, Chase's full name was originally "Chase Cooper", but this was changed to prevent any potential confusion with the character Cooper from The Internship.
    • At some point during development the story was meant to be more overtly pornographic, there being nude sprites for TJ and Carl (removed from the final build). The final product only has sex scenes on the Flynn route and one on the Leo route, both not visually explicit and the former even being non-titillating.
