• Dueling Dubs:
  • Speedy Video included an English dub on their Malaysian VCD release around 1999 under the title "The Way of the Strongest."
  • Funimation released their dub to VHS and DVD in 2003 in both edited and uncut versions.
• Hey, It's That Sound!: Some Mobile Suit Gundam sound effects can be heard for the Giant Robot.
• The Other Darrin: In Japanese, aside from Commander Red and Staff Officer Black, all the Red Ribbon officers were recast from the series. General White and Seargent Metallic going from Tesshō Genda and Shin Aomori to Hirohiko Kakegawa and Hisao Egawa made sense due to their drastic changes, but even the less altered officers were recast for unclear reasons. Bin Shimada replaced Toshio Furukawa as General Blue and Naoko Watanabe replaced Kazuko Sugiyama for Colonel Violet's brief cameo.
  • Kamesen'nin was voiced here by Kinya Aikawa despite Hiroshi Masuoka having already succeeded the then-recently deceased Kouhei Miyauchi in the role proper for the show.
• What Could Have Been: An early promotional image showed Goku wearing an entirely blue gi (which he only wore for the opening scene), Commander Red having white hair with the same style he had in the manga, and Staff Officer Black as a bald black man like he was in the manga. In the final movie, Goku wore his GT outfit, Red had shorter red hair, and Black was a different ethnicity (presumably Asian) and had hair.
