• Author's Saving Throw:
  • When Davy Jones was added to the game, he was only available to unlock from Platinum Chests. Players didn't like that unlocking him relied on luck, so Gameloft changed him to be directly unlockable from gems or a microtransaction in the 3.3.0 update.
  • When the Ratatouille update was first released, a bug gave Windows players the option to purchase the Remy's Ratatouille Adventure attraction (which was originally meant to only be a leaderboard prize) for 300 gems instead. Gameloft then (temporarily) gave iOS and Android users the same option so long as they had reached the point of unlocking the Ratatouille storyline in-game. For those who purchased it with gems, winning it in the leaderboard mini-event instead resulted in a free enchantment level-up.
  • For those who disliked the 75 character kingdom limit, the Raya and the Last Dragon update increased the limit to 100.
• Early-Bird Cameo: Ducky, Bunny, and Forky were added into the game on May 21, 2019, exactly one month before the theatrical release of Toy Story 4, their proper debut.
• Role Reprise: Jessie, Buzz Lightyear, Bo Peep, Hamm, Sarge, and Rex were all voiced by their original movie voice actors, until the Lady and the Tramp update removed their lines. Notably, this game was the final voice acting role for R. Lee Ermey before his death in 2018, and thus the last time he ever voiced Sarge.
• Similarly Named Works: Two of the Jungle Book quests, "Call of the Wild" and "Grin and Bear It", share their names with required activities for American Cub Scouts at the Cub Scout Wolf and Cub Scout Bear ranks, respectively. There's also The Call of the Wild by Jack London.
• What Could Have Been: The 1.02 beta version of the game, which is playable on an Android Pocket, features numerous differences from the final game:
  • The game originally used sprites instead of 3D models.
  • Minnie would have been unlocked before Goofy, Pluto would have been a required character instead of premium, and Pete is completely absent.
  • Characters from The Lion King and Aladdin would have been permanent content instead of limited-time event characters. Timon and Pumbaa were also a single character instead of being separately obtainable.
  • Some characters would have been obtainable by reaching a certain threshold of visitors or a certain account level. Neither feature is used to unlock any characters in the final game and are purely cosmetic.
  • Cars characters Lightning, Mater, and Flo were originally meant to appear in the game and even appear in the character book, but were cut due to being saved for fellow Gameloft title Cars: Fast as Lightning.
