Most characters give you five gems for getting them up to level ten. The sole exception is Hamm, who gives you twenty gems instead. Since he's a piggy bank designed to hold money, it makes sense that he'd give you more currency than anyone else.
Ice Age sounds like an odd addition to the game (although it is still technically owned by Disney), but it makes sense when you consider Gameloft - the developer of Magic Kingdoms - previously worked on several Ice Age mobile games.
