- Acting for Two:
- As in the original series, Joe and his older brother Shin have the same voice actor, Takeshi Kusao.
- This time around, Mimi and her mother Satoe also share their voice actress, Marika Kouno. So does Tailmon and Taichi's mother Yuko, who are both voiced by Mie Sonozaki.
- In the English dub, Corina Boettger voices both Palmon and T.K.
- Channel Hop:
- For the first time since Digimon Data Squad, Digimon Adventure: aired on Fuji TV.note
- For the English dub, instead of airing on broadcast television like its predecessors note , Digimon Adventure: was instead made available for digital purchase on the Microsoft Store and later was released for VOD on Hulu.
- Cross-Dressing Voices:
- Aside from Izzy (voiced by Anne Yatco), T.K. (voiced by Corina Boettger, who is nonbinary and also voices the female Palmon) and Patamon (voiced by Lizzie Freeman), who had all been voiced by female actors in the dub of the original series, just as in Japan, this is notably the first time Gomamon has been voiced by a woman in the English dub as well as the Japanese version (Alex Cazares).
- Ponchomon, a side evolution of the female Palmon, is voiced by male Alejandro Saab.
- The Danza: In a hilarious way, Volcamon in Episode 43, is voiced by Volcano Ota, a Digimon based on him. Nice move, Toei.
- Executive Meddling: A big reason for some of the more confusing plot choices in the show. One notable example was that Episode 36 would had debuted HerculesKabuterimon, not BlitzGreymon. However, to promote the latest addition to the Digimon Card Game, the latter was given higher priority instead while the former is reduced to a silhouette.
- The Other Darrin:
- With the exception of Takeru (whose voice actress, Megumi Han, already voiced him in the PSP game), all of the human partners have new voice actors. It couldn't be helped in some cases, however, as Sora and Taichi's original actresses, Yuko Mizutani and Toshiko Fujita, both passed away of breast cancer in 2016 and 2018 respectively.
- In turn, Tailmon is the only Digimon with a new voice actor. Instead of being voiced by Yuka Tokumitsu, she's voiced by Mie Sonozaki.
- The English dub is opting to wipe the slate clean:
- Zeno Robinson as Tai, replacing Joshua Seth

- Anne Yatco as Izzy, replacing Mona Marshall.
- Christopher Swindle as Tentomon, replacing Jeff Nimoy.
- Cherami Leigh as Sora, replacing Colleen O'Shaughnessey.
- Tara Sands as Biyomon, replacing the aforementioned Cherami Leigh, who in turn replaced Tifanie Christun.

- Alex Cazares as Gomamon, replacing Robert Martin Klein.
- Suzie Yeung as Mimi, replacing Kate Higgins, who in turn replaced the late Philece Sampler.
- Corina Boettger as both Palmon, replacing Anna Garduno, and T.K., replacing Johnny Yong Bosch, who in turn replaced Doug Erholtz, who in turn replaced Wendee Lee.
- Lizzie Freeman as Patamon, replacing Laura Summer. Freeman also replaces Dave Mallow as Pegasusmon, while Chris Hackney replaces Jamieson Price as his other evolutions, who in turned replaced Mallow.

- Role Reprise:
- Masako Nozawa narrated Digimon Tamers in 2001 and reprised that role for Digimon Adventure: 19 years later.
- Other than Tailmon, the partner Digimon retain their voice actors from the original Digimon Adventure.
- Takeru is again voiced by Megumi Han, who voiced the character in the PSP game adaption of the original Digimon Adventure.
- Despite his change in personality, Ogremon is once again voiced by Hisao Egawa.
- In a similar vein as Takeru, Ryōtarō Okiayu reprises his role as Devimon from the Digimon Adventure PSP game.
- The Neemon that appeared in Episode 11 is once again voiced by Masami Kikuchi, who has voiced a named character in every Digimon series, including Jou and his brothers from the original Adventure.
- Leomon is reprised by Hiroaki Hirata.
- Due to him already reprising his role as Tentomon, Takahiro Sakurai also reprises his role as Mimi's father Keisuke.
- Etemon is reprised by Yasunori Masutani.
- Strabimon is voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya, who portrayed Koji in Digimon Frontier. Due to that series' central gimmick of humans transforming into Digimon, Kamiya voiced all of Strabimon's evolutions in that series, making his appearance here a very roundabout reprisal.
- Olegmon is reprised by Kōzō Shioya.
- Gravimon is reprised by Shigeru Nakahara.
- Show Hayami reprises Wisemon from Digimon Fusion.
- In the English dub, Ben Diskin reprises Cutemon from Digimon Fusion.
- Schedule Slip: Due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic, there was a two-month gap between the initial broadcasts of Episode 3 and Episode 4. The series resumed broadcast on June 28, 2020.
- Spoiled by the Merchandise: The quest mode for the tie-in Digivice toy released in November closely follows the events of the first half of the series, going further then-airing episodes, as well as the series's finale.
- Surprise Release: The English dub was announced in February 2022, with a few preview videos indicating that recording was well underway. Toei then when radio silent until April 2023, when they dropped the entire series on the Microsoft Store without prior announcement.
- Technology Marches On: Meta example. In the original series, the large continent in the Digital World was named Server, as in a computer server. In this series, the continent is named Cloud instead, as in cloud computing.
- Troubled Production: According to this interview, the reboot had been planned since at least the 15th anniversary, but was set aside in favor of Digimon Adventure tri. and later Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna.
- What Could Have Been: According to interviews in an art book, the Machinedramon arc was originally going to be much more cohesive and less episodical: a MetalMamemon was originally planned on being the main antagonist and leader of the Vademon cult and he would’ve hunted the kids while gathering parts for Machinedramon. In the end, he would’ve fused himself, Andromon, a Virus-type MetalGreymon, MetalTyranomon and Megadramon to become Machinedramon. Other ideas that were cut due to Executive Meddling are explained in this video.
