Trivia / Devil Hunter Yohko

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Yohko and her cousin Ayako are both played by Aya Hisakawa in Japanese and Amanda Winn-Lee in English.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices:
    • Genderflipped, believe it or not. Yohko's grandmother Madoka was voiced by a male (Yūji Mitsuya), not counting the OAV where she reverted to her prime age (and Satomi Koorogi took up the young Madoka role).
    • Ditto for her sister, Chiaki who's voiced by Shigeru Chiba of all people, and the end result is hilarious.
  • Four Is Death: The 4th OVA is a music video collection because the director did not what to do a 4th episode due to this.
  • No Dub for You: The series was never dubbed in France or Germany with those countries opting to release it sub only, the only languages Yohko was dubbed in are English, European Spanish and Italian and of those three only the English and Italian dubs cover the entire series.
  • No Export for You:
    • The single volume manga is available in France, but has not been officially exported to North America or anywhere else for that matter, unlike Gaku Miyao's Kazan manga series. Nor has any of the video games for the Sega Mega Drive or PC Engine CD been released internationally.
    • Episodes 5 and 6 were never released in France and the OVA series as a whole was never officially exported outside of the few countries it was released in.
    • The European Spanish dub only covers up to episode 5, episode 6 was never released in Spain.
  • Real-Life Relative: In contrast to the Japanese version and the English dub, the Italian dub has Ayako voiced by Paola Della Pasqua, the twin sister of Yohko's Italian dub VA, Marisa Della Pasqua.
