  • Colbert Bump: Due to his tendency to play fairly obscure games, there are probably several. However, the biggest example would have to be La-Mulana. The vast majority of fans of the game, especially western fans, can be traced to DC's LP of the game.
  • Creator Breakdown:
    • He had one of these in the middle of his Shadowrun LP all because his viewers tried to correct his pronunciation of the name "Kitsune" complete with "The Reason You Suck" Speech and disabling the comments for several parts. Whether this was for comedy purposes is still unknown.
    • Losing a suspend-save right before the final boss in Hand of Fate due to a patch changing the layout of the unlock tree, as well as the creators being unable to do anything about it, resulted in him calling the LP off, regretting ever starting it, and telling his viewers not to buy the game.
    • Towards the end of La-Mulana 2, he ran into a Game-Breaking Bug introduced in a patch that left him locked in a boss room, unable to warp away. This would be the tipping point for his frustrations with the game's developers, and rather than perform the suggested workaround, he suspended his playthrough until it was fixed, which would not be for months, and by then he was so angry with Nigoro that he continued putting off finishing the game for many months more. When he was finally able to bring himself to resume playing, he simply completed the remaining puzzles, beat the final boss, and cut off his commentary very curtly. He has since gone on record he will not return to the game no matter what features are added later, and has lost any goodwill he had for the project. He seems to have eased up on his attitude, having played a randomized run of the game since then. Time will tell if he plays the DLC or not.
  • Enforced Method Acting: According to an interview, DC knew that the Hell Temple reward would be a skimpy swimsuit, but not that the game would show a full-screen portrait of Lemeza wearing it, and thus his screams and cries of agony were for real.
  • Official Fan-Submitted Content:
    • Every character he made in his Cocoron LP (except the first, who was created by dice roll) was submitted by a fan. After he made the sixth character, he allowed fans to vote for which character to use and area to go to for the next episode.
    • Starting with his Axiom Verge LP, he's allowed fans to submit joke thumbnails based on an in-game template (the saving room in Axiom Verge, the dialogue screen from La-Mulana 2, etc.)
  • Playing Against Type: His LPs of Nifflas' games (Knytt, Knytt Stories, and Within a Deep Forest) feature DC at his least hammy—he's almost sedate.
    • He was fairly reserved in the first few episodes of ActRaiser, as well
    • As he explained when he went back to his usual hammy-ness for ActRaiser, he did so because so many people asked him if he was depressed or if something was wrong because he wasn't at his usual level of energy. As he put it: "Apparently if I don't talk like a game show host, everyone assumes I'm depressed."note
  • Promoted Fanboy: NIGORO, the development team behind La-Mulana, liked his LP of the game so much that they mentioned him in the site's official blog. He would also later go on to beta-test the remake.
  • What Could Have Been: He has heard about the animé series Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and has passed up the suggestion to make a Let's Play of Grief Syndrome, a fan-game that is based on that series.
