The British version:
- The Danza: Peter Dinklage as Peter.
- Enforced Method Acting: According to Frank Oz's commentary, all of the gay sex photographs used in the film are of actual gay pornography, to elicit a more realistic reaction.
- Fake Brit: Texan native Alan Tudyk (Simon) plays a very convincing English guy. New Jersey-born Peter Dinklage keeps his accent, though.
- Playing Against Type: Matthew Macfadyen and Keeley Hawes are primarily known as dramatic actors but take on comedic roles in this film.
- Real-Life Relative: Matthew Macfadyen (Daniel) and Keeley Hawes (Jane) are married in real life.
The American version:
- Role Reprise: Peter Dinklage plays Frank in the original and the remake.
