• Actor Allusion:
  • At one point, Chucky calls the mental hospital a "cuckoo's nest". This is most likely a reference to one of Brad Dourif's earlier roles in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
  • This isn't Jennifer Tilly's first time going into lesbianism.
• The Other Darrin:
  • In the Japanese dub, Bin Shimada replaces Rokurō Naya as Chucky, as the latter passed away between the dubs of the last film and this one. Keep in mind Naya has voiced him since the second film onwards. Andy is voiced by Mitsuru Fujiwara, replacing Yuuichi Karamaru from the previous film. Oddly enough, Mika Doi reprises her role as Tiffany from Bride of Chucky, since in the last film she appeared, she was voiced by Shinobu Adachi instead. The only character from the previous film whose VA reprise his or her role is Chie Nakamura as Nica.
  • In the Brazillian dub, Guilherme Briggs voices Chucky, replacing Nelson Machado, who's been voicing Chucky since Bride.
• Refitted for Sequel: The idea of having multiple Chuckies was originally planned all the way back in Child's Play 3, but wasn’t included in that film due to budgetary restrictions.
• Technology Marches On: Chucky used to get his voodoo spells from instruction manuals in the older movies. Now he learns new spells on the Internet on VoodooforDummies.com.
• What Could Have Been: As scripted, Nurse Ashley was an unsympathetic jerk who deliberately leaves Madeline for dead and has her neck broken by Chucky when he pushes her down a flight of stairs. In the final product, she's a mostly sympathetic character who gets killed offscreen with a drill.
• Write Who You Know: The character Carlos is based on a friend of writer and director Don Mancini's, who is also a gay Latino nurse.
