Trivia:

  • Adored by the Network:
    • From March 31 to April 5, 2018, one episode was aired every hour. The show had five (later six) episodes at that point.
    • Owing to the show being a smash hit, especially with the black community, it gets approximately 4 hours of airtime every weekday and is one of CN's big four, with the other three being Teen Titans Go!, The Amazing World of Gumball, and Total DramaRama. It even gets holiday marathons, usually for African-American and family related ones.
    • On January 19, 2022, the show was renewed for not just a fifth season, but also a movie in production. However, it ended up getting screwed over when the episode order was slashed in half.
  • Approval of God: Missy Elliott approved of Nicole dressing up as her for Halloween in the Halloween Episode of this show.

    • Kit who's voiced by late-30s Dana Davis.
    • Bernard Williams who's voiced by early-50s Phil LaMarr.
    • The teenaged Elders of the Creek are voiced by the creators and a friend of theirs.
    • Tony and Boris are also voiced by the creators.
  • The Danza: Angel Lorenzana has the same first name as their character Angel, who was directly based on them.

    • Co-creator Ben Levin voices Mark, Bobby, Tony, and several other minor characters.
    • The other co-creator Matt Burnett voices Barry, Boris, and several others.
    • Cannonball and Gibson are voiced by head writer Jeff Trammell.
    • Of the storyboard artists, Angel Lorenzana is the original voice of Angel, Tiffany Ford voices Cariss and Paloma, Najja Porter voices King Cheyenne, and Lamar Abrams voices Kenneth.
    • Sun from "The Sunflower" is voiced by Anatola Howard, who helped write and storyboard the episode.
    • Big Baby from "Adventures in Baby Casino" is voiced by character designer Dave Alegre.
  • Distanced from Current Events: Cartoon Network pulled "The Last Kid of the Creek" from reruns and the app in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the plot is kick started by Kit getting everyone (sans Craig) in the creek sick. The episode began airing again in the middle of August and is available on streaming.
  • Fake Nationality: White characters Paintball Mike, Big Red, and Priest Kid are respectively voiced by black actors Phil LaMarr, Dana Davis, and Philip Solomon.
  • He Also Did:
  • In Memoriam: "King Of Camping" is dedicated to the memory of Kiersten Harris, who voiced the delivery person in the episode.
  • Marathon Running:
    • The show aired a 7-hour marathon of episodes 13-40 of Season 3 on October 20, 2021.
    • A marathon consisting of the later Season 2 episodes and the "Capture the Flag" five-parter aired on October 25, 2021 to build up to the Season 4 premiere, "The Legend of the Library".
    • A marathon of every episode of the series ran in April 2022 to lead up to the batch of new episodes that month.
  • The Other Darrin:
  • Playing Against Type: Tabitha and Courtney's respective voice actors, Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, are best known for adult-oriented fare.
  • Queer Character, Queer Actor:
    • Angel, who is agender and uses "they/them" pronouns, was voiced by queer agender storyboard artist and writer of the show Angel Lorenzana. Eventually, they would be voiced by Miss Benny, a queer transgender woman.
    • J.P.'s sister Laura is a lesbian, just like her voice actress Fortune Feimster.
    • Gay Honeysuckle Ranger Raj is voiced by Parvesh Cheena, who is also gay.
    • The Gay Secret Keeper is voiced by Cole Escola, who is gay and non-binary.
  • Screwed by the Network:
    • As a result of the merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery, the fifth season's episode order was cut in half and ended up being the final season of the show.
    • Jessica's Big Little World ended production after twenty episodes were produced with one of the show's editor stating the reason was that Warner Bros. Discovery no longer has interest in making preschool shows.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The concept art for Stacks shows that at one point, she was going to be a hard-nosed white brunette.
    • As revealed in the storyboard for "Big Pinchy", it was going to have a joke where after Craig falls through the brambles, what looks like his eyes at first are revealed to be slits in his eyelids. According to Charmaine Verhagen, it was cut for having "a little too much body horror".
    • Najja Porter storyboarded two scenes that got cut from "Capture the Flag Part 5": a scene of Xavier leaving in disgrace that got cut for time, and a scene of a passing truck driver freaking out over all the kids bowing that got cut because it would've killed the mood.
  • Word of Gay: In June 2021, Kelsey and Stacks were confirmed to be lesbians (which later became official in "Fire and Ice") and Secret Kid was confirmed to be gay (this was revealed in the show during the episode "Silver Fist Returns").
  • Write What You Know:
    • Kelsey carrying around a sword made of a PVC pipe is based on something Matt Burnett did in a video he made in high school.
    • J.P. is partly inspired by the older high school kids Matt Burnett would see hanging around the cafeteria before class, in particular one guy who always wore a jersey.
  • Written by Cast Member:
    • A few episodes are co-written by H Michael Croner, who voices JP.
    • Ashleigh Hairston, the voice of Wren, joined the writing team in season 3.

Miscellaneous:

  • The Elders of the Creek originated in the For Tax Reasons shorts the show's co-creators made before getting into TV. While the initial IM IN UR MANGER KILLING UR SAVIOR short (which is where David and the costumes came from) is rather tame, the Ronin Dojo Community College DX shorts Mark and Barry are in has a rather large amount of profanity and other adult content.
