Trivia / Crackdown 3

Go To

  • Celebrity Voice Actor: Terry Crews as Commander Jaxon is a major selling point for the game.
  • Channel Hop:
    • Originally developed by Cloudgine, they were bought by Epic Games and development shifted to Sumo Digital (with some help from 2 developers Ruffian Games, Red Kite, Elbow Rocket and Certain Affinity).
    • Also, on a larger scale, this isn't being made by the original developers (as Realtime Worlds no longer exists), while Ruffian Games only supports the game rather than developing it as a lead.
  • Creator Backlash: A minor case. Microsoft admitted they jumped the gun when they announced Crackdown 3 in 2014, saying it was way too soon after all the delays.
  • Release Date Change: A rather infamous example. Crackdown 3 had its date changed three times. Originally announced at E3 2014, it was slated to release in 2016. Then it was delayed to November 7, 2017 to launch for the Xbox One X. Then it was delayed again to 2018... and then delayed once more to February 15, 2019, where it finally launched.
  • Role Reprise: Michael McConnohie reprises his role as the Agency Director's voice, having played him in 2007's Crackdown and 2010's Crackdown 2.
  • Sequel Gap: The game is being released nine years after Crackdown 2.
  • What Could Have Been: Originally, Crackdown 3 would have more features when the game was in development:
    • The "Wrecking Zone" multiplayer was originally had larger, more realistic buildings, complete with larger, realistic destructible environments (shooting walls cause lots of small realistic chunks fall out, and very-large explosions on large buildings).
    • In the initial E3 2014 trailer that had the working title Crackdown, the game would've been similar to the first game but features large destructible environments and being set 20 Minutes into the Future, with Los Muertos was set to return as one of the enemy gangs.
  • Working Title: Crackdown
