  • Colbert Bump:
    • Many found out about them through the consistently positive reviews Anthony Fantano of The Needle Drop has given their projects.
    • Then there are those who found them after Hamilton made Daveed Diggs a star.
  • Creator Backlash:
    • A collaboration with Jamie Kilstein reached this status in a matter of days, after some effectively career-ending reports concerning Kilstein's conduct.
    • The original version of "Back Up" featured a verse from Secret Circle rapper Antwon, who would later be exposed as an alleged sexual abuser. When the Wriggle EP was reissued in 2021, Antwon's verse on "Back Up" was replaced with a new one from Debby Friday.
  • Executive Meddling: Reportedly clipping.'s A&R at Sub Pop suggested remaking the CLPPNG intro, as it was too fast and harsh for an opening track. The boys went away to re-record the song... and made it even faster with more harsh noise. A positive example, since the group and label both agreed that the re-recording actually turned out much better than the original.
  • He Also Did: All three of them have solo careers, predating the band:
    • Daveed Diggs, as well as an actor of stage and screen, was a member of The Getback.
    • Jonathan Snipes is a soundtrack musician, but he also made dance music as Captain Ahab and noise as one half of Unnecessary Surgery.
    • William Hutson is the other half of Unnecessary Surgery, but he's also a noise, tape, and electroacoustic musician, under his real name and Rale. He also made Harsh Noise as Tattered Syntax and Anthracite.
  • Missing Episode: The "story" chronology, as far as anyone's aware, skips over 3 and 6.
  • Referenced by...: The Deep (2019) is inspired by the song of the same name.
  • Throw It In!: Inverted; a portion of "The Show"'s mix was cut out to make it easier to master to vinyl, but when clipping. found they liked the song better without it, they decided to make that the definitive mix.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • According to one interview, they tend to write with their features in mind before confirming the features in question. As a consequence, they have shelved beats (or not) based entirely on whether they could get a specific feature.
    • Visions was meant as a surprise release to kick off a tour in support of Addiction, but the tour was cancelled outright. Furthermore, the sessions for both almost produced one double album until their label talked them out of the idea.
