- Chart Displacement: "Nobody's Home" is tied with "Like the Rain" as his longest-lasting #1, and it topped the 1990 Billboard Year-End charts for the country format, but it's nowhere near as well known as "Like the Rain", "When I Said I Do", "Killin' Time", etc.
- Creator Couple: He has been married to actress Lisa Hartman Black since October 1991.
- Directed by Cast Member: Between "State of Mind" and "Spend My Time", he directed or co-directed all of his music videos.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes:
- In 2003, he released a song called "I Raq and Roll" on his website. Some stations downloaded and played it, causing it to get to #42 on the Hot Country Songs charts. However, it was never put on an album.
- Almost all of his Equity releases seemed to disappear when the label closed.
- One-Hit Wonder: Clearly not Clint himself, but his longtime wife, Lisa Hartman Black, was credited for her backing vocals on "When I Said I Do" which hit #1 on the country charts in 1999. While they later released a full-fledged duet titled "Easy for Me to Say" in 2001, it didn't fare nearly as well.
- Production Posse: He wrote nearly all of his songs with his frequent writing partner, Hayden Nicholas.
