  • The Other Darrin: For the Japanese version of the Rondo of Blood remake, the late Kiyoyuki Yanada voices Richter Belmont instead of Jin Horikawa, Sawa Ishige voices Maria instead of Yoko Teppozuka, Sayaka Ohara voices Annette instead of Atsuko Honda, Eri Sendai voices Tera instead of Hiromi Murata, Eri Mizuhara voices Iris instead of Akie Yasuda, Dai Matsumoto voices Shaft instead of Yanada, and Norio Wakamoto voices Dracula instead of Hiroya Ishimaru.
  • Role Reprise: In the Rondo of Blood remake, Kiyoyuki Yanada and Norio Wakamoto reprised their respective roles as Richter Belmont and Count Dracula.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The prototype/demo version of the game shows a few things that were changed prior to the release of the game. Among these is the fact that Richter is given a placeholder voice provided by Liam O'Brien, recycling clips from Portrait of Ruin with a few new ones recorded for item crashes. In the final game, Richter's dialogue was fully recorded by David Vincent, who would go on to continually voice Richter from this game going forward.
    • A.S.Minakata states in pgs. 123-124 of The Dracula X Chronicles' official Japanese guidebook that Dracula's new third form, created due IGA being told that the original game's final boss was too easy, was initially even harder due to the planners and programmers enthusiastically throwing in too many random attack patterns. The new Hydra boss of the overhauled Stage 5' went through a similar rebalancing process as it also had overly aggressive attack patterns, its weak point on its torso was less visually clear, and the parts that resurrect weren't red (which was to signify their "immortality" ala the Red Skeleton enemy).
    • Minakata also states in pgs. 125-126 of the same interview that, as he was taking IGA's feedback in adjusting the timing of the post-boss orb drop, there was a plan to add a separate score for the player's final pose.
