• Creator Backlash: FreezeFlame22 has stated that he considers "The Truth Comes Out" to be the worst episode of Carl, elaborating that he regarded it as a mess in terms of writing.
• Creator's Pest: FreezeFlame22 used to feel this way about Ms. Bishop, as he percieved her as a bland character with little to no personality outside of being an Apathetic Teacher. This, alongside being unable to find a voice actress that could do a posh British accent at the time, was the reason why Ms. Bishop was ultimately retired from Carl, with the In-Universe explanation being that she moved to the Kaktus Kingdom permanently. As time went by, Freeze changed his mind about this and Ms. Bishop returned when the first three seasons of Carl were remastered, showing up with a new character design, being voiced by Carmen and later on BluePastels (who are able to do a posh British accent), and with a slightly different characterization, with further confirmation that she would be appearing in the sixth season of the series.
• Cross-Dressing Voices: Blooper's mother Nessa is voiced by FreezeFlame22. She is also the only female character Freeze still consistently voices (though that might be because her dialogue mainly consists of the word "bloop").
• Fake Brit: Sebastian and Ronald, Talia's father, speak with British accents. They're both voiced by Swoldow EVGRB, who is American. Likewise, BluePastels is Chinese-American and voices Ms. Bishop, who speaks with a British accent.
• The Original Darrin: FreezeFlame22 voiced Coach Johnson from the series premiere until "The Truth Comes Out", when HAZAHMASTER! replaced him. After Hazah left the team, Freeze reprised the role from "The Talentless Show" onwards.
• The Other Darrin:
  • DarkNightPrincess was meant to be the default voice actress for Grace, Linda, and Kylie. However, she left the team after her first and only appearance and Xsytrixx took over the role of Grace while AverageToaster19 did the same with Linda and Kylie. Xsytrixx himself would leave the team in early 2020 due to his busy schedule, and following his departure Carmen took over as the voice of Grace, as well as Talia, Roxanne, Staffordshire and a few others.
  • In early 2023, the roles of Talia's mother Janet and Ms. Bishop were recast to BluePastels so that Carmen wouldn't have to voice so many characters.
  • Following Jordie the chill mean cookie's departure from the team, his major characters, Liam and Tucker were recast to Popplio Power and Swoldow EVGRB respectively. In Tucker's case, his voice actor was changed from Swoldow to InstaButNot starting with the fifth season of Carl, and then to GengarOfTheOpera following Insta's departure from the team. This also makes Tucker the character whose voice has changed the most, having had five voice actors in total.
  • InstaButNot voiced Bodak and Feefa (leaders of the Gutts and the Kramps respectively), Ronald (Talia's father) and Kenny (Logan's flatmate). Upon him resigning as a voice actor in early 2023, Quantum took over the roles of Bodak and Feefa, Swoldow EVGRB that of Ronald, and gamesnathanlikes that of Kenny.
• Two Voices, One Character: Sebastian's regular speaking voice, a fake southern England accent, is provided by Swoldow EVGRB. His northern England accent, which he slips back to whenever he is nervous or simply not trying to hide it, on the other hand is provided by FreezeFlame22.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The series was originally conceived as a spin-off of The Koopa Kids, but as it was cancelled and rebooted as Bowser's Koopalings, Carl soon lost any lingering connection it had to The Koopa Kids and gained more of an own identity.
  • Logan was originally intended to attend Toad Town High alongside his step-brother, but this was changed to him being a drop-out. This can be seen in the classic version of "The First Day" in which Logan is attending school and is on the same grade as Liam, whereas the remastered version of that episode explicitly states that Logan dropped out of high-school before the start of the series.
  • Kylie was originally meant to be just a background character. She became a major character starting with "The Great Race" because FreezeFlame22 liked the idea of Grace having a friend that didn't think much of Carl and his friends at first, but that would eventually warm up to them over time.
  • Ms. Bishop was originally meant to be Ludwig's biological mother, which was the explanation for Ms. Bishop's original design bearing some resemblance to Ludwig. This was also a call-back to the series finale of FreezeFlame22's 2013 show, The Koopa Kids, in which Ms. Bishop is Ludwig's biological mother. This idea was soon scrapped, likely as soon as The Koopa Kids was cancelled and rebooted as Bowser's Koopalings. To further discredit this, Ms. Bishop was written out of Carl in Season 4 due to Freeze losing interest in the character, and Ludwig's real mother was later revealed to be Sophia Eisenhower, wife of King Johann Von Speckbohne XVIII of the Bohnenkraut Kingdom. While Ms. Bishop did return to the series in the remastered versions of the first three seasons of Carl, her design was heavily altered to remove any connection to Ludwig.
