Trivia / Candice Michelle

Go To

  • Acting in the Dark: When she was brought back to win the 24/7 Championship, she didn't actually know that's what she would be doing, and just assumed she would be used in a pre-taped segment.
  • Actor Allusion: She incorporated her Go-Daddy dance into a taunt in the ring after WWE had stopped plugging her as the Go-Daddy girl.
  • Creator Backlash:
    • Zig-zagged. She loved having a match at WrestleMania 22 but the time got cut for it - and she wanted a more traditional match as opposed to a Playboy Pillow Fight.
    • She hated the Pudding Match she had with Melina at the 2007 One Night Stand PPV, calling it "disgusting" and finding it impossible to do anything worthwhile with. She even stopped eating pudding afterwards.
    • Defied with Playboy. She gets people asking if she's ashamed of her children finding out, and counters that the cover hangs in their home, and being on it was "a dream come true".
  • Creator Breakdown: After her injuries, she admitted to training harder than she should have, resulting in even more injuries and that led to her release. She wasn't able to wrestle again on the indies, but did have a retirement match in 2017 for closure.
  • Dye Hard: Lightened her hair to brown around 2007.
  • Fan Community Nickname: Candi Addicts.
  • Friendship on the Set: She became fast friends with Torrie Wilson and Victoria while they were in a stable as Vince's Devils, travelling together and even dressing alike by accident.
  • Hostility on the Set: The animosity between her and Melina in their 2007 feud was very real. According to Candice, Melina hated her and most of the Diva Search girls, as she disapproved of them not training to wrestle on the indies like she had. They had a very public feud via blog posts in which Candice accused Melina of stealing one of her moves, Melina responded with a picture of her doing it on the indies and a "Reason You Suck" Speech, and WWE refused to publish Candice's response to that. Melina was reportedly furious when she found out she'd be dropping the Women's Championship to her. However, Candice maintains that they came to respect each other and she has nothing but praise for how the feud encouraged her to improve her wrestling.
  • On-Set Injury:
    • When learning to wrestle, she rented a ring for "$3 a day" and trained on her own time. She describes being unable to move her neck on her drives home from those sessions.
    • And famously in a 2007 2/3 Falls match with Beth Phoenix, where she tripped on the turnbuckle and fell onto the mat, getting a concussion and breaking her collarbone. Ironically she still calls that her favourite match.
    • And then in 2008, she returned before she had fully healed, lying to her doctor that she was fine, and re-injured her clavicle in the return match. This was an even longer recovery process, meaning she didn't return until September that year.
  • Production Posse: With Torrie Wilson and Lilian Garcia. In 2011 they hosted a Tough Enough talk show on After Buzz TV together. Candice and Torrie also appeared in Lilian's video for her single "You Drive Me Loca".
  • Promoted Fanboy: She was a wrestling fan growing up and auditioned for the Diva Search hoping she could become a wrestler.
  • Real Life Writes the Hairstyle: While recovering from injury in 2008, she cut her hair to shoulder length both for Locks of Love and because it had been ruined from all the extensions.
  • Throw It In!:
    • She found her wand accessory in a stripper shop and decided she'd use it "like Triple H uses his sledgehammer" - and it ended up becoming a thing.
    • She was drafted to Smackdown for a short amount of time, but it had more of a PG rating than Raw, and her character was seen as too sexual for the show, so she was traded back quickly. They then added in a "too hot for TV" slogan for her.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • A match was announced for WrestleMania 24 teaming her with Maria Kanellis against Melina and Beth Phoenix. However, she re-injured her clavicle due to returning to the ring too soon, and had to be replaced with Ashley Massaro.
    • Shortly before her release, she and Melina wrestled each other at several house shows. During matches, reports said that Candice absolutely turned heel in them by faking injuries. Since Melina and Candice were both drafted to Smackdown, it's possible that Candice would have turned heel to feud with her.
  • Writer Revolt:
    • Vince reportedly wanted her to be more of a Genki Girl in her entrance, hence the remix of her "What Love Is" theme song. She disliked that, feeling that her persona was more sensual than bubbly, and asked if she could have the track remixed again by one of her friends. She then incorporated the Sexy Coat Flashing on the turnbuckle to accommodate it.
    • WWE had only brought her in as a Ms. Fanservice, and only expected her to be a manager or eye candy. She however wanted to wrestle, and learned on her own; training before shows and renting a ring in California to practice in on her days off.
