Trivia tropes with their own sub-page:
- Approval of God:
- Kyle Wilson, the author of Saiko Rocks, has admitted to liking James’ stories tributing his SMG4 fanfic.
- RusSniper45 and Perry Martin have also given him positive feedback on his fanfics and drawings based on their works.
- "KBG4 x Kitten-Chan: Rainy Love" gets approval from both KBG4 himself and CartoonLowStudios.
- Balena Productions, creator of Sonic Zombie, not only gave James his blessing to write "Sonic Zombies: Chao Garden", but liked it.
- Makerboy 10 has liked all the stories and drawings that feature his Inksona.
- Author's Saving Throw:
- After "Meggy's Metamorphosis Nightmare" was released, Perry Martin reminded James he forgot to have Metamorphosis Meggy say a certain line the fandom character was known fornote . James then went back, edited his story, and added the line in.
- In response to a friend's criticism of how Sonic beat Loki too easily in their previous encounter, James made "Sonic vs Loki", a proper battle between the two characters.
- When James made "Team B: War Splats Attack", Perry Martin said in FanFiction's review section that War Meggy's crew wasn't how they were supposed to be portrayed. To that end, James had War Marie drink alcohol (or "Octo-scotch") and do her slurring Precision F-Strike in his next story involving the War Splats.
- The Danza: When SMG3 hacks SMG4's account (except not really) in "SMG4's Hacking Crisis", he changes SMG4's username to "Bailey". As in, James Bailey, SMG3's voice actor.
- Development Hell: One story in the works is a crossover between Sonic the Hedgehog and Vampirella, with the Queen of Red Hearts as the Big Bad. The story has been on the backburner for two years, but has yet to meet the light of day due to James being overwhelmed by the countless other drawings and stories on his plate. What makes it worse is that a FanFiction user that requested the story in the first place not only keeps demanding it, but makes suggestions for.. suggestive content that would warrant an M rating for the story when James only wants a T rating. James even threatened to scrap the story entirely if the user didn't stop bugging him over it.
- Inspiration for the Work:
- Reality Subtext:
- "SMG4's Hacking Crisis" was written shortly after SMG4's Twitter account got hacked.
- "SMG4's Twitter Crisis" was written during a time where people were afraid that Twitter would shut down.
- Recycled Script:
- “It’s Gonna Be Okay, Meggy” shares a similar premise to “Fearing Fate”. Both stories feature one of the SMG4 girls seeing or hearing of their potential deaths in "[NINTENDO HAS CLAIMED THIS VIDEO]" and Meta Runner, respectfully, and are afraid it will happen to them in real life.
- "Eggman's Shadow Nightmare Trial" and "Octo-Trouble With Overlords" also share a similar premise: Original Character Sha'D'Oh Nightmare captures Dr. Eggman and Dj Octavio (respectively) with intent to recruit for his world conquest plans... and succeeds both times.
- Refitted for Sequel:
- Three unused ideas from "Knuckles & Spider-Man: Hunter Trouble" made it into the next crossover story between Knuckles and Spider-Man.
- Peter giving Mr. Jameson the Angel Island photos, including the selfie of him and Knuckles, which would then be followed by Mr. Jameson paying Peter a couple dollars while laughing at the selfie. This made its way into "Fun In Paradise", albeit in a different manner.
- Julie-Su and Mary Jane wearing swimsuits as they approached Knuckles and Peter to invite them for a dip in the hot tub or a swim in the lake.
- The story ending with Knuckles and Julie-Su making out.
- "You're An Inkling, You're A Dalek" was originally going to have Team B from RusSniper45's videos fighting off the Daleks. James later put this idea into his next "SplatWho" story, even titling it after Team B.
- When writing "Black Cat and Catwoman Night of the Cat Thieves", James considered adding a scene where Peter and Felicia make out in the hot tub, before deciding to save it for a later story featuring Black Cat.
- James considered having Senbo partake in a Turf War in "If Senbo Was In Splatoon", but that ended up being reserved for "Senbo's Turf War".
- Three unused ideas from "Knuckles & Spider-Man: Hunter Trouble" made it into the next crossover story between Knuckles and Spider-Man.
- Sequel Gap: "The Return of Solvetsky Romanov" is a continuation of "The Tomb Raider And The Russian Terrorist", but was released over two years after the first story.
- Write What You Know:
- "Shadow's Rage against The Detractor" was based on James having to deal with an annoying Sonic fan who repeatedly called Shadow a side character.
- Mr. Lachi, a character from "Mobian Pool Hangout", is based on James' next door neighbor Mr. Li, only Mr. Li doesn't have a mansion and his pool was drained years prior to the story's creation.
- Swagmaster strangling himself with a scarf in "Desperate for A Redesign" was based on a similarly unpleasant experience James had in real life.
- "Where's Cloud?", a story where Chris and Tifa (the former's adoptive mom) look for Cloud (the former's adoptive dad) in a game of hide-and-seek, is based on the author playing hide and seek with his parents real life. Specifically, how the dad was once found in the shower, fully clothed.
