Trivia / BLUE GUARDIAN: Margaret

• Bonus Material: Beating the game unlocks the "CG Viewer", which lets you view every artwork that you've encountered in your playthrough. This includes all 9 variations of the game's ending cutscenes and Game Over images based on Margaret's state of dress (from fully-clothed to half-clothed on the top and/or bottom half to completely naked). There are also extra images that are unlocked by achieving special requirements, such as shooting over four thousand bullets, retrying a lot (either from pausing or from a Game Over), beating the game on "Expert" difficulty, getting 100% Completion by getting all of the Ex-Lives and missile upgrades, beating the game without collecting any Ex-Life and missile upgrades (which is appropriately titled "Zero Percent"), collecting all four of the hidden cogwheel artifacts, and getting through the entire laboratory near the very end of the game without being detected.
• What Could Have Been: A collection of scrapped material can be unlocked by beating the game after collecting all 4 of the hidden cogwheel artifacts:
  • Certain enemies, such as a Sticky Bomb, and a Killer Rabbit, were scrapped. The former for being unpleasant, and the latter because it was too cute.
  • Some of Margaret's Game Over images were changed into what they are now. Her Taken for Granite death included the snakes that turned her into stone, her "drowning by lizard men" and "raped by rats" images were upgraded due to Fox not being satisfied with Margaret's posture and facial expressions in them. However, the most graphic change was her "drowning by tentacles" artwork, where she was originally just going to be eaten alive by the monstrous Combat Tentacles. A major reason why this was changed because there was too much detail on Margaret's crotch from the tentacles that it seemed like Fox averted Barbie Doll Anatomy entirely and drew her vagina, too. So it was toned down.
