Trivia / BETADCIU

Go To

  • Approval of God: Many mod authors have voiced approval of their characters' usage in BETADCIUs and covers. The Yo Mama channel also gave their seal of approval on the "Jeez" BETADCIU, which originates from a mod featuring the channel's host Brody Foxx.
  • Creator Breakdown: The "Aspirer" cover featuring Blantad and Henry Stickmin, dubbed "This is getting tiring..." explicitly represents Blantados venting his frustrations with artist block and burnout.
  • Creator's Favorite: Blantados has admitted on multiple occasions to be overly fixated on HoloFunk, which makes itself readily apparent with how many covers and custom assets exist using the mod in Update 8 and beyond.
  • Creator Recovery: Following the "Aspirer" cover, the "Parish" cover featuring Blantados and his friend Isa represents his recovery from his burnout and art block, dubbed "The Road to Relaxation".
  • Dummied Out: The public version of the mod contains audio for numerous extras that are inaccessible even with the passcode for various reasons, usually pertaining to Fanwork Bans for mods like Friday Night Funkin': Corruption.
  • Follow the Leader: With the burst in popularity of Blantados' BETADCIU videos, many other users on YouTube went ahead to create their own FNF BETADCIU covers.
  • Official Fan-Submitted Content: Update 10 completes the visuals for "Deathmatch-Holo" using a fanmade version created by MarioKidPastaWay.
  • Orphaned Reference: The riff from "Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows" is omitted in "SpookEDD" while Tord reacting to it is kept, thus making Tord look like he's glaring at Skid and Pump for no reason.
  • Quietly Cancelled:
    • "Pico and Guns" stopped updating after the second part, with no correspondence from Blantados since. The most likely explanation is that Pico and Botan's plot-important friendship was starting to be construed as them falling in love with each other, a ship that the HoloFunk team has repeatedly and vocally expressed their disdain of.
    • Likewise, "Senpai & Tankman" stopped updating around the same time, despite promises of a playable demo and the last cover ending on a cliffhanger with Tankman, Aloe, and Nenechi preparing to visit an unknown individual (speculated by many to be Shaggy) to help revive Senpai and possibly train Nenechi further. There's no clear explanation for this one, though several factors such as Blantados now actually working for HoloFunk and the game receiving new management with an insular attitude towards Common Crossover plots in the fandom are likely to be involved.
    • "The Bob Mixup" has not received any updates after part 2, most likely due to both the discontinuation of Vs. Bob and Bosip due to the allegations against AmorAltra, and the Bob and Opheebop ship no longer being canon.
  • Schedule Slip: The "Hands" BETADCIU was marked with numerous delays caused by Blantados being sidetracked by other uploads and technical difficulties, causing it to spend over two months in production. In comparison, the "Killer Scream" BETADCIU, which is of similar length and has many more unique visuals, took only a week after the song's public release to be completed.
  • Serendipity Writes the Plot: Blantados was unable to find clips of Gura coughing for the "Nerves" BETADCIU, so he settled for her sneezing instead. This in turn led to the spur-of-the-moment realization that she would be the only character able to replicate the sneezing in "Nazel," thus leading to the HoloFunk cover of the song.
  • Throw It In!: The "Nazel" cover with Gura, Amelia, and Aloe is entirely an improvised work based solely on the fact that Gura is the only character featured in BETADCIU besides Momi (the original opponent in the song) who can actually sneeze thanks to her appearance in the "Nerves" BETADCIU. Blantados even writes it off as a distraction from the "Hands" BETADCIU in the official upload on his channel.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Blantados has mentioned that he's discarded numerous projects due to the mods involving them running into toxic amounts of drama.
    • The "Tormentor" cover between Senpai and Spirit was almost going to be between Kapi and his future self, but lost by a slim margin in a vote.
