• Acclaimed Flop: The movie had a very positive critical response, like the rest of the films Charlie Kaufman has worked on, but failed to make back its budget. In a post-release interview, Kaufman talked about some reasons that might have contributed to its financial failure, mostly the fact that it doesn't have a happy ending and the partially because of the Animation Age Ghetto. Most likely though, it's probably because the film never got a wide release, just reaching about 500 theaters.^note 600 is considered a wide release.
• Acting for Two: Tom Noonan voices everyone besides Michael and Lisa.
• Awesome, Dear Boy: A lot of the people who were working on the project did solely because they wanted to work with Charlie Kaufman, and lots of them even worked Overtime just to see the movie get made.
• What Could Have Been: The usage of "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" and My Man Godfrey came about because they couldn't get the rights to "My Heart Will Go On" and Casablanca.
