  • Banned in China:
    • The Nazis banned the novel when they came to power in Germany thanks to its anti-war and perceived anti-German messages.
    • The Nazis tried Erich Maria Remarque's sister for subversion, telling her that while they couldn't get her brother, they could get her. They had her head cut off then sent her brother the bill.
    • The book was banned in the United States as well, though bizarrely, the ban seems to have been limited to the city of Boston and Chicago.
  • Completely Different Title: The original German title is Im Westen nichts Neues, which literally means "Nothing New in the West".
    • When a new translation was published in 1993, translator Brian Murdoch rendered the Title Drop on the last page as "there was nothing new to report on the Western Front," but kept the title, which is now iconic in the Anglosphere.
  • Referenced by...: There is a Hatsune Miku song titled All Quiet on the Cherry Blossom Front.
