- Humble Beginnings: The characters got their start as just drawings on a napkin during lunch. Later, a storyline was developed around them, and the rest is history.
- Kids' Meal Toy:
- KFC had a set of four character straws in Australia in 1996. These consisted of Ickis, Oblina, Krumm, and the Gromble.
- In Summer 1997, Dairy Queen released a set of four Nicktoons beach toys, which were based on this series, Rugrats (1991), Rocko's Modern Life, and Hey Arnold!. The Aaahh!! Real Monsters toy was a squirt toy of Krumm.
- Pop-Culture Urban Legends: For the longest time there were rumors of a movie adaptation of the series that was scrapped for being "too dark" for the target demographic. There exists no evidence of a project like this ever being in development (or considered for that mater), with the info on the "movie" coming from the now defunct site TV Tome (a site notorious for it's false information on TV shows). Eventually, Klasky-Csupo confirmed on their Facebook that there were never any plans to make a TV movie◊ after a fan asked them about it.

When he tells his mother this, she tells him to apply to a safety school in the sewers. Ickis then tells his mother that he doesn't want to go to Brown.
- Rugrats (1991): The monsters, including the main trio of Ickis, Oblina, and Krumm have made guest appearances in "Ghost Story" as part of Angelica's scary story. Both shows were produced by Klasky-Csupo.
