  • Acclaimed Flop: Despite generally positive reviews and winning some year-end awards, the game was a commercial failure, selling less than half of expectations.
  • Development Hell:
    • As of this writing, the prequel and the sequel are both on indefinite hold. For some time, the game was removed from Steam because of Autumn Moon's financial troubles, but now it's back.
    • In June 2013, there was a Kickstarter campaign to fund the prequel, but it wasn't successful (only 38% of the needed sum was backed). The design team still plans to finish the prequel game, though.
    • The original game itself had been in development for many years, originally starting earlier in the decade and initially set for a late 2004 release, before multiple delays ended up causing it to not see release until 2008.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: In June 2022, the game was removed from all digital storefronts for reasons unknown.
  • What Could Have Been: The art style was initially hand-drawn 2D.
    • Ports for the Nintendo DS and Wii were in consideration, but eventually dropped.
