Trivia / AAA

  • Acting for Two: Ozz was also Path Finder and Rey Dragón.
  • Executive Meddling
    • Confused by the La Parka becomes L.A. Park while La Parka Jr becomes La Parka thing? If not, AAA didn't do it's job well enough.
    • After Pentagon Jr. and Fenix left the company and picked new, but similar names to wrestle under, the promotion attempted to trademark the names before the wrestlers could in a likely attempt to prevent them from working.
    • Dorian Roldan once impersonated a MGM representative in an attempt to enforce a cease and desist.
  • Real Song Theme Tune: As with every Mexican wrestling promotion. Here's a few examples:
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor: AAA is notorious for being far laxer than most other promotions when it comes to their roster's behavior. That being said, even they have their limits:
    • Juventud Guerrera was fired in 2009 for causing a fight in the locker room, though AAA took him back when it was brought to their attention it was over someone taking a dump in his bag.
    • The company has publicly admitted to firing Teddy Hart in 2010 because he angered so many of his coworkers they were afraid someone in the locker room would eventually try to murder him. They did later take him back for limited periods of time, and is literally the only major promotion in North America (and arguably the world) that is willing to book him.
    • The off-screen reason for stripping Taya Valkyrie of the Reina de Reinas Championship had to do with her refusing to show up and defend the belt when called to a show she wasn't scheduled to appear on. This is also the behind the scenes reason for Johnny Mundo's making a scene and dropping his three title belts at once, as rather than work things out with Valkyrie, AAA asked him to physically retrieve her belt for them, although Mundo continued to get booked and was "forced" to continue defending the belts. Valkyrie herself would get booked again after nineteen months.
    • After the incident with Rosemary, Sexy Star was also forcibly stripped of the Reina de Reinas Championship and kicked out of the promotion. She was also subsequently blackballed from every major wrestling promotion around the world and these days can only find work at Mexican indy feds.
  • Screwed by the Network: Masahiro Hayashi ordered Takuya Sugi to plant drugs in NOSAWA's baggage to get him arrested, in exchange for a solid contract. Takuya gave a press conference where he confessed this. This nearly got him blackballed from wrestling in both Mexico and Japan despite Konnan putting in a good word for Sugi. Hayashi got off without incident of course.
  • What Could Have Been: Andrade was originally supposed to defeat Kenny Omega for the AAA Mega Championship at Triplemanía XXIX, but Omega's U.S. promotion All Elite Wrestling asked AAA to change the finish to Omega retaining after AEW and Impact Wrestling booked him to lose the Impact World Championship to Christian Cage, as part of their feud for the AEW World Championship.note  Then apparently Omega himself asked AEW to change it back to him dropping the belt to Andrade after discovering that Andrade managed to get Ric Flair (father of Andrade's fianceé Charlotte Flair) as his manager and AEW was okay with this, but by then AAA had decided to keep Omega as champion a little longer.
    • The next plan was for him to drop the belt to El Hijo del Vikingo, but by this point Kenny was too banged up to continue, and vacated the championship for Vikingo to win in a 5 way match.
