Tearjerker / To Lose Ourselves and Find Our Bones

  • Hari finally breaking down over Woojin's death. Mijin wakes up to the sound of crying and assumes it's Hyoryung due to how much Hari has been holding back up until this point.
  • The kids reuniting with their families. Hyoryung learns that her father is dead, while Suhyeok, Onjo, and Mijin are left alone as none of them have surviving family. Then there's the Jangs...
  • The first thing Hari says to her parents is about Woojin dying. The mother immediately bursts into tears, while the father brings both women into a hug, head tilted up to the sky trying to hold back his own tears.
  • After everything that happened, the Jang parents still have some toxic traits, being quite angry and upset at Hari's failure in her competition.
  • The Jang parents being told that Woojin was killed, not just bitten, and that their daughter knew about it. The mother immediately bursts into tears. Naturally, they both feel quite betrayed by this. Mrs. Jang is so sad she immediately hugs her remaining daughter when she's brought in but Mr. Jang just stays still in shock, quietly questioning Hari before raising his voice at her. She can only tell them that it's more complicated than it seems. Her inner monologue talks about how much she regrets the pain they're in and that she couldn't protect her baby brother so that they could have reunited with him.
  • The manipulation the military puts the kids through. Hari is made to feel like a bad sister for protecting Namra despite her role in Woojin's death. Mijin is told that Daesu distrusts her and played an edited recording as proof, temporarily souring their relationship. These are kids mind you.
  • Mijin being shot. Hari is devastated and terrified for her girlfriend. And in the midst of all of this, she's forced to put her trust in the officer that tried manipulating her with Woojin's death for the sake of Mijin's wellbeing.
  • When all the kids are taken into custody, their families are not informed of what happened to them and are all but powerless to keep them safe at first due to Martial Law. This is obviously terrifying but coming off of surviving a zombie apocalypse where their kids had to save themselves, it's especially so.
  • In the end, Hari feels sad that she'll never get to tell Woojin about her sexuality, and that her parents learning about it feels wrong since she always told him everything before them.
  • Her grief for Woojin deserves its own in-depth look. She was quite protective of him, did everything she could to find and protect him, but he died in order to protect her. They were very close in life, with her confiding in him over most things. She had to watch him get bit and turn and then get his neck snapped. Many times, she'll recall the sound of his neck snapping. Hari is miserable because she simply hates that she'll have to spend the rest of her life without him.
  • Onjo, who lost her best friend, father, and the boy who should have been her boyfriend, begins isolating herself from the other kids. It's gradual at first, but she's always absent when the group isn't in danger or doing something important, despite the other kids' attempts to reach out to her.
  • In a way, Hari's resentment towards Namra. Namra snapping Woojin's neck was ultimately a necessary evil and it wasn't her fault that he was bit. However, Hari simply can't separate her image of the other girl from her little brother's death. It's only made worse when Mijin is shot thanks to the military in their attempts to figure out where Namra is. Namra didn't necessarily do anything wrong but Hari will always resent her.
  • Namra's mother hysterically asking about her daughter, desperate to know what happened to her. The kids note that this isn't a rare occurrence and that many worried parents are desperate to learn what happened to their children, most of whom are probably dead.
