As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

  • The end of "Hostages", where a soldier Selina met loses a leg since Selina moved up a military operation date to score her political points.
  • In "Convention", Amy's voice audibly cracks when she finishes her "Reason You Suck" Speech by saying Selina has accomplished nothing except guarantee there will never be another female president "because we tried one, and she fucking sucked!"
  • The end of "The Eagle" when China bans foreign adoptions in response to Selina falsely blaming them for her embarrassing tweets. When Mike (who was planning to adopt a baby from China) finds out he can't even finish the press conference and just walks out of the room despondently. Especially considering he told Selina to tell the truth about the tweets rather than blame China.
  • From "Kissing Your Sister"
    • Selina is proudly showing her mother the Oval Office and that she now sits at the same desk used by FDR. Her mother's only response: "I do hope you'll wait 'til your hair grows to have your portrait painted." Selina stays silent for a moment before deciding the visit is finished.
    • Both Selina's story about Nixon and her sudden realization at the end that it isn't a good story about her,
    • Selina forlornly walking out of the Oval Office after the House vote is hung.

  • Selina's Nixon Wave when she gets on the helicopter in "Inauguration".
  • Selina's reaction when Doyle tosses his Senate vote to Montez, meaning Selina won't be either President or Vice-President. She just stalks off, going to the coffee room as Montez's acceptance speech airs. She then grabs the coffee machine and throws it to the ground in anger.
    • The final humiliation for Selina? As she sits for Montez's inauguration, she learns that the news is crediting Montez for the freedom of Tibet deal that was to be Selina's legacy. Then, her helicopter has engine failure and is forced to land outside the Capitol so she gets to hear the massive cheering for Montez's speech.
  • In "Omaha", Ben convincing Selina that she will never be President again. It's clear that it's just as painful for Ben to say it as it is for Selina to hear it.
  • In "Chicklet", Selina remembers her father as a wonderful and caring man who always made sure to buy her snow globes from his business trips and a far better parent than her mother. Then she finds out the truth: Her father cheated on her mother constantly and died while having sex with his secretary; his secretary was the one who bought all those snow globes for Selina; it was her father who sold Selina's beloved horse to pay off debts; and in fact, her dad was a horrible businessman constantly into scams and her mother made the barn into a brothel for his secretary who he kept trying to get pregnant. Selina is naturally rocked to learn this to the point she goes to the barn and proceeds to smash the hell out of every memory of her father.
    • The worst part of it all is Selina realizing that her mother was actually helping her all these years by covering the truth up and Selina never knew that, in her own way, her mother loved her enough to let Selina hate her for her father's sins.
  • In "Judge", Selina stealing Gary's story and his and his father's hunting trip, at Gary's own birthday party. It's heartbreaking to see that Gary realizes just how horrible a person Selina is.
    • Right before that, an interracial couple named Brian and Beth leave the party. They are uncomfortable with all the Confederate flags and lawn jockeys. They are also the only people at at Gary's birthday party that he knows.
  • In "Groundbreaking":
    • Most of the flashbacks. From Selina's tearful concession speech back from her first presidential run in which she laments that the presidential glass ceiling will remain in place, to the revelation that Selina had a mental breakdown in between seasons from losing the presidency, to Andrew taking advantage of Selina's drugged-up state to get back together with her, to Ben telling Selina that Hughes only gave her the vice-presidency because he needed a woman on his ticket to get elected.
    • Selina breaking up with Jaffar for good because she can't get elected president with a Muslim boyfriend. She finally found a boyfriend who genuinely loved her, but her ambition won't let her stay with him.
  • In "Super Tuesday," Selina is distracted by a bunch of other issues as she tries to tell Quinn to pay off Andrew, and the way she snaps at him to "take care of it" leads Quinn to think he's been given a murder order. Shortly afterwards Andrew's boat explodes, and despite their long acrimonious relationship, when Selina realizes she's responsible for her ex-husband's death she's absolutely horrified and breaks down weeping.
  • In "Oslo", Jonah finally reconciles with his step-father Lloyd who is actually his biological father, only for Lloyd to die of chicken pox that he contracted from Jonah. What's worse is that, even though Jonah actually was starting to get along with his stepfather, the eulogy he gave at his funeral showed he never loved him at all and that he's glad that he's dead.
  • The Grand Finale:
    • Selina clinches the nomination and wins the presidency, but only by screwing over all of people closest to her. When she finally returns to the Oval Office, it's only when she sees the empty seats that she starts to wonder Was It Really Worth It?.
      • Selina bans gay marriage, thus annulling Catherine and Marjorie's marriage. This is the final straw for Catherine and forever estranges their relationship. When Selina's funeral comes, Catherine, Marjorie, and Little Richard refuse to attend and, in fact, Catherine gleefully celebrates the day with margaritas.
      • Gary. Selina frames him for the Meyer Fund's crimes, which results in him getting sent to prison. Before that, Selina is ready to tell him what's going to happen but just can't do it. She hugs him as he chuckles "I'm not going anywhere." As she gives her speech, Selina looks over to see Gary being arrested with poor Gary giving a long sad look as it sinks in what's happened.
      • And yet, somehow in the end, he still attends her funeral to give her the Dubonnet lipstick she was going to wear at the convention and bittersweetly jokes to her casket about how she'd hate the funeral flower arrangements.
      • Kent and Amy beg Selina not to bring in Jonah as her running mate. When she does anyways, Kent snaps ("FUCK THE NUMBERS!") and quits. He marches out of the convention in disgust and tears off his tie to toss it into the garbage.
      • It's particularly telling that in spite of finally achieving her goal of becoming a full term President, Selina's legacy is as a historical footnote and most of what she's remembered for are her questionable decisions. She doesn't achieve anything in her pursuit for power and is overshadowed by her more successful and beloved successors Kemi and Richard (not to mention her own funeral is overshadowed by the death of Tom Hanks).
  • The bloopers reel for the final season includes the series wrapping moments for most of the main cast. After wrapping the final shot of the series (Selina standing alone in her office), Julia Louis-Dreyfuss is in tears as she thanks the cast and crew and credits the show as a "lifesaver" that helped her get through her cancer treatment.
