• The (entirely historically accurate) sudden death of Will's young son from disease, one that would be easily curable with modern medicine. The entire family is overcome with grief, his wife taking comfort in her religious beliefs in the afterlife and God's infinite wisdom, Will reluctantly going along with her because the alternative is just too awful for words.
