Tear Jerker / Trapp Family Story

• The ending credits shows Maria's happy memories with Baron von Trapp's children, in contrast to her sad childhood.
• Maria said to Sister Dolores that she has nowhere to go and the abbey is the only home she can think of.
• In Episode 2, Maria confessed about her childhood to Mother Abbess and Sister Dolores.
• When Maria sees Agathe for the first time, she reminds of her young self working in the cold night.
• Maria tells about her life to Matilda in Episode 5. Even Matilda seems symphatetic when she finds out about the death of Maria's mother. When Maria mentioned that her father died in his sleep, little Maria becomes shocked.
• Anton receives a slap from Nastassja after he insists Rupert to continue fighting, despite that Rupert is already lost in the game.
• Maria feels guilty for not taking care of Martina in the forest. Made worse when the Captain tells that he was mistaken of her and finds out that Martina has pneumonia.
  • Maria cries while sewing Martina's teddy bear. It also counts as Fridge Logic, where Maria reminds Martina of her mother who died from pneumonia when she was around two years old.
• The children missed Maria so much in Episode 16.
  • Little Maria and Johanna attempted to go to Nonnberg Abbey to find Maria, but they only encounter Sister Dolores. Sister Dolores tells the children that they should go home quickly, much to the children's disappointment. Little Maria asks Sister Dolores to give Nikola to Maria and leaves. Then, Johanna and little Maria see their father who followed their trail and cries on his arms.
  • Matilda feels guilty when she finds out that Johanna and Little Maria went to the abbey to get Maria back and the children's secret for her birthday present. The children tries singing without Maria until Maria suddenly shows up right on time.
• Yvonne breaking her engagement to the Captain and admits to Maria that she (Maria) is more suitable to become the children's mother.
• Maria reuniting with the Captain and the children in Episode 31.
• The Captain is shocked when his fortune is gone from bankruptcy.
• The fact that Johanna is forced to salute Hitler in class makes her feel guilty and cry.
• In Episode 38, Agathe was about to cry when she saw her stepmother Maria fainted (she's actually pregnant). The child had decided to call her father instead of crying.
• Franz tells Georg that Dr. Vortman is captured by the Nazis. The latter lied to Maria about the doctor's condition in order to stop her from being worried.
• Everything in Episode 40 especially the scene where the Trapp family sing their farewell song to their friends in Austria.
