While Lighter and Softer compared to Sanrio Animation's Ringing Bell and The Kindly Lion by Mushi Productions. This short does have some notably sad yet bittersweet moments which Takashi Yanase is no stranger to in his books.
- After Joe passes out after attacking the crow and ending up blind. We get a short sequence taking place in Joe's mind where we see The Rose Flower shedding a tear over Joe losing his ability to see as he's sitting on a hill.
- Joe's death, throughout the short he was very energetic, optimistic, and kindhearted who's only friend and lover was a beautiful rose flower. After defeating the black crow (who dies after falling down a waterfall), Joe is now blind, and extremely weak to the point that he can barely jump between cliffs. Thankfully he managed to return back to The Rose Flower and shares a final conversation with it. Eventually he alongside The Rose both die together near the end of autumn and are both covered in snow.
- In a bittersweet way, Joe (now an angel) reuniting with The Rose Flower in the afterlife. The first thing he does is giving The Rose Flower a hug◊, followed by a kiss, and gently kissing its petal.
