- When the Alamo defenders are informed that no reinforcements are coming.
- The death of the Parson, Crockett even gives a pray (something he admits is rare for him) for the Parson.
- When Bowie receives word of his wife's death. The whole thing is so heartbreaking that Travis apologizes for interrupting his mourning and offers his condolences.Bowie: Travis, you can't help being you. And I can't help being me...
- The thirteenth day of the siege. Watching Santa Anna's artillery kill several of the defenders as they're overwhelmed, including many of the minor characters, like Beekeeper and Dickinson. Travis breaks his own sword to deny it to the enemy before he's shot and killed. Crockett is killed in the chaos when he is run through by a lance and then blown up as he ignites the powder magazine. Bowie, still recovering from his earlier wounds, is shielded by his former slave friend Jethro and manages to kill several Mexicans but is eventually bayoneted and dies.
- "I hope they remember. I hope Texas remembers."
