Tear Jerker / Sailor Moon Abridged

• Nephlite's death. It's just as sad as in canon, if not worse. Especially because Molly becomes severely depressed for several episodes, and remains heart-broken for the rest of the series. The other characters have fun with it anyway.
  • In Episode 28, when she's attacked by the Monster of the Week, she actually welcomes it, hoping she'll be reunited with Nephlite in death.
  • In the unofficial Sailor Moon R sequel, at the final episode Molly tells Serena that she knows her secret. As she leaves to fight against Black Lafy, Molly silently prays that her friend "won't meet the same fate as Nephlite". Meanwhile Serena thinks that she should distance from Molly from now on. Harsher in Hindsight, as Molly is demoted to extra in the later seasons of the canon series.
• The final battle against Queen Beryl in the Mexican adaptation. Unlike the original version, when Darien dies things get more serious and Serena has a breakdown, blaming the Sailor Scouts for being too weak and leaving her to fight against Beryl by herself.
  Serena: "Dead boys can't say no *kisses Darien's corpse* ...In the end you leave me to fight Beryl by myself....Man, you guys are the worst."
• Sapphire's Heel–Face Turn. After realizing Wiseman's true colors, he defects from Black Moon and reunites with the Spectre Sisters briefly, even reconciling with Prizma. However he decides to go back to Diamond in order to tell him the truth about Wiseman's manipulations, knowing it will result in his death. His reason? He doesn't want Emerald's suffering and death to be in vain.
  • What makes it worse is that when Wiseman kills him and gets the battery back, he realizes he could have just gotten a spare. Meaning Sapphire died for nothing.
  • Prizma's reaction at the end of the episode is pretty bad too, as she suffers a minor breakdown when Sapphire's jacket vanishes, signifying his death.
  Prizma: Sisters....I'm fine. He knew that things would end up like this.
  Catzi: He's totally burning in Hell right now.
  Bertie: Catzi!
  Catzi: What? Just because he redeemed himself, doesn't mean he'll be saved.
  Prizma: Just like us....*looks at the sky* Goodbye, my love...
