Tear Jerker / Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles

• During "And Then There Were Two", Rico spends most of the episode still not trusting T'Phai. However, after the pair are forced to work together to rescue the rest of the squad. During the fighting with the bugs, T'Phai's suit is damaged. Rico is heartbroken, as T'Phai explains that he's likely going to die soon. Though the situation turns into a happy tearjerker, when Rico is able to find someone who can repair T-Phai's suit.
• Late in the Tesca Campaign, Rico is incapacitated and taken off duty. The whole squad feels his loss, and it's made all the more poignant when the team has just taken a break. Razak gives his orders in his usual decisive fashion, but at the very end, he shouts, "Bruto, Rico, take the perimeter!" He turns away, and his expression rapidly goes through shock at what he just said, and then pain. But he's still the L.T. and says, "Bruto, T-Phai, perimeter."
• The death of Xander Barcalow. Despite being a bit shallow and overconfident, as well as turning into a bug hybrid, it's clear that the time he spent getting close to Dizzy meant a lot to both of them.
• Lt. Jean Razak's Heroic Sacrifice and funeral. He was one of the strongest unifying factors for the Roughnecks, and even General Redwing joins them to pay tribute.
• After Rico saves Dizzy from falling off a cliff, he tells her that seeing her fall seemingly to her death awakened many feelings within him, and he realized how much he really loves her. Dizzy, who only confessed her feelings once before while Rico was in a coma, tells him to forget about being in a relationship with her, invoking the Cartwright Curse with how the people she cares the most for end up dying or otherwise getting into deep trouble, and she doesn't want to risk that for Rico. Rico begrudgingly accepts her answer, and the last shot of the episode is her breaking down in tears as she realizes she may have killed her chances with the one man she loves above all others.
