Tear Jerker / Raising Arizona

• Ed getting a very bitter Heel Realization moment in the car as she and H.I. ride off to save Nathan Jr.:
  Ed: "I don't want to feel better. I don't care about myself anymore; I don't care about us anymore. I just want Nathan Jr. back safe. If we don't get him back safe, I don't wanna go on living. And even if we do get him back safe... I don't wanna go on living with you. I-I guess I still love you, Hi. I... I know I do, and I ain't even blaming you. The whole thing was crazy, and the whole thing was my idea."
  H.I.: "Well, factually, I myself bear a very large re—"
  Ed: "Let me finish. Ever since those two jailbirds took little Nathan, I've been doin' some thinking and I ain't too proud of myself." *begins to cry* "Even if Mrs. Arizona had more than she could handle, I was a police officer, sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States."
  H.I.: "Now, Honey, you resigned before we ever—"
  Ed: "That ain't the point, Hi! We don't deserve Nathan Jr. any more than those jailbirds do. And if I'm as selfish and irresponsible as you..."
  H.I.: "You ain't that bad."
  Ed: "If I'm as bad as you, then what good are we to each other? You and me's just a fool's paradise."
• It's more of a "happy tears" sort, but H.I.'s dream at the end, where he and Ed sit down to dinner with their children and grandchildren.
