Tear Jerker / Paige

Go To

  • After she lost the title. The fallout video is worse.
  • The RAW after Wrestlemania 34, she officially announced her retirement from in-ring competition due to a neck injury she suffered shortly after her return. As she was making her speech, Paige was clearly holding back tears. Just a small reminder, Paige is only 25 years old, and having to retire so young must be gut wrenching.
    • Even more poignant; the arena this happens in is the same one she debuted in and won the Divas' Championship.
  • A WWE Chronicle special was originally planned as a mini-documentary on Paige's return to the ring in late 2017. Throughout the first half, you see Paige so hopeful about pulling off a Career Resurrection after her horrible experience with the sex tapes leaking and her abusive relationship. It's right after the first women's Royal Rumble is announced, and she talks about how she hopes she's the one to win it as the perfect conclusion to her return narrative. Even after suffering some whiplash on a live event, she's confident she'll be medically cleared the next week. Then she discovers her comeback is halted, and her in-ring career is over.
  • The documentary Fighting with My Family follows her family. During filming, the daughter got signed to WWE. As expected, there is an incredibly emotional goodbye at the airport as she prepares to head off to Florida. What makes this even more poignant is that her parents are both known as Ax-Crazy monster heels, as is Paige herself. Seeing all of them breaking down and weeping into each other's arms as they say goodbye is a little hard to take. Especially as mother Julia tries to hold it together until her daughter leaves and then just completely collapses into her husband's arms in tears.
    • The wham moment of the documentary and biopic are both Saraya and Zack getting called to tryout for the WWE. While both felt confident in their chances, only Saraya ends up getting picked. In that tearful goodbye mentioned above, it should be noted Zack wasn't there. In fact, he went in a downward spiral of depression that almost seemed that it could end tragically. Fortunately, Zack's older brother managed to get through to him and got him on the path of a happy life, even if he never achieved his dream of being a WWE wrestler.
  • A happy variant. After 5 years away from the sport she loved, in front of her family in her home country, Saraya wins the AEW Women's World Championship.
