Some of the saddest moments from lonelygirl15.

All spoilers on this page are unmarked. You Have Been Warned.

Season 1

  • "My Dad Said...": Bree opens up about the death of her dad, and good luck not crying when she nearly breaks down in tears trying to talk about his death.
    • The previous video, "Bree's Dad Is Dead". It's mostly shots of Bree walking along the beach intercut with shots of the ocean and seagulls, set to beautifully mournful choir music. The last shot is of a clearly upset Bree lying on her side, followed by a title card reading "In Memory of Bree's Dad".
  • Bree's death in the season finale.
    • The reactions of the surviving members of TAAG are even sadder. Jonas is completely despondent, Daniel is heartbroken and briefly lashes out at Jonas before breaking down crying again, and even Sarah is so crushed by seeing Daniel like this that she starts crying as well.
  • Bree's voicemail.

Season 2

  • "I'm Done": Jonas, still heartbroken from Bree's death, takes a road trip to visit some of the places Bree was in her old videos. Then in the last minute, Jonas just breaks down in tears and rants at Bree.
Jonas: Why didn't you trust us? Why didn't—we had a plan! We had a plan and we could have saved you. We could have saved you. You know what, I—you know what, I am done! I am done! I am not doing this--I am not doing this anymore. I'm not wasting another second of my life on any of these girls. They might be out there. They might not be. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. I love you, Bree, and I'm sorry. I'm so sorry but I got to let you go. I have to let you go. I gotta say goodbye. I'm so sorry.
    • The song that plays over this video really makes Jonas' heartbreak even more poignant.
  • "Sister to Sister": Hearing Sarah talk candidly about how she's screwing her life up and wondering if she'll ever be able to make her way out of it, while on the verge of tears the whole time, can you make you a little watery-eyed for her.
  • "Beer Bath": Most of the episode is Jonas getting drunk and beating himself up over letting his sister Emma get kidnapped again. It starts out as grimly humorous, but in the last two minutes it veers into depressing:
Jonas: (pretending to be a game show host) I hope everybody was keeping score and we have our winners. Hey, okay, let's tell, hey, let's tell them what they've won, Bob. Let's tell them what they've won. Everybody, let's tell them what they've lost. I want to tell them what they've lost. (starts crying) Their sister. (takes a long drink)
    ...
Jonas: Oh yeah, one more thing. Daniel, I don't give a shit about Gina or Dr. Hart, or Verdus Pharmaceuticals. I just want my sister back. I just want my sister back. (hangs his head)
  • Dr. Hart's first monologue in "Bloodlines: Part 4".

Season 3

  • "I Love You All": Emma gives a heartfelt goodbye to all her friends as she leaves in the middle of the night. Tears are streaming down her face before she even starts, as she thanks the TAAG for everything and apologizes for how she's leaving.
  • Gina's death in the final part of "Prom: It's To Die For".
  • "No More Fear": Emma's story about Gina, and then the song she wrote in her memory.
