  • Ben has a breakdown on-air in Episode 20. After being constantly taunted and egged on by Greg Frickard (who has, by this point, progressed from Sitcom Arch-Nemesis to full-on Stalker with a Crush, actually attempting to secretly record his and Emily's business meeting which Ben crashed in spectacular fashion), he sounds like he's about to start crying by the time Emily calls, who chides him for treating her like a child. To top it all off, she says that, before his meltdown, she would have liked to have been in a relationship with him.
  • Ben's Grief Song "Can You Hear Me" in episode 40, where he sings to Emily that he misses her, he can't live without her, and he won't stop trying to find her. Even Sammy is choked up after hearing it.
    • Becomes Harsher in Hindsight when you learn about Sammy's missing boyfriend Jack, and you realize that Sammy knew exactly what Ben was going through the entire time.
  • In episode 44, the utter anguish in Ben's voice when he finds the apparently-dead body of Emily in the wreckage of the Rainbow Lights needs to be heard to be believed, followed by the fact that Emily doesn't remember him.
  • The end of episode 49 reveals that Greg Frickard gaslighted Emily into believing he saved her from the Rainbow Lights, and the two are now in a relationship. Ben, not wanting to mess with Emily's head even more, decides to go along with it. The way he holds himself together in front of Emily, then breaks down right after she leaves, is absolutely heart-wrenching.
  • Episode 100.
    • First off, Tim Jensen is severely injured fighting Robo-Tim, and it's unclear if he'll recover, or how his wife Mary will react.
    • At the Devil's Doorstep a possessed Cecil begs Herschel to kill him in order to stop him from opening the gate. Herschel tries, but in the end he can't pull the trigger before the gate opens and Cecil is taken by the Void.
    • After years of missing his fiance, Sammy finally hears his voice again. Except Jack is telling him how wonderful it is in the Void, begging him to join him so that they can be together forever. When that doesn't work, Jack turns to digging into his insecurities instead. In the end, Ben, Emily, and Lily have to physically drag Sammy out while he pleads for them to let go.
