Tear Jerker / Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)

• The woman in the bookstore who desperately tries to tell Dr. Kibner that her husband isn't her husband any more. He doesn't believe her and pushes her not to take any hasty action. Elizabeth tries to give her her phone number, recognizing the woman is in trouble and no one will help her. However, without someone to come after her as Matthew does with Elizabeth, she gets duplicated seemingly without any additional fight.
• Matthew tearfully telling the sleeping Elizabeth he loves her and that they can escape now after the "Amazing Grace" Hope Spot. Even his gasp as she crumbles sounds more like anguish than terror.
• Two of the classmates being taken to be duplicated at the end are holding hands. It's a beautiful sign of a schoolgirl friendship that won't last much longer.
