  • The two small-eyed cyclops girls in chapter 10/episode 5. While the fact that the cyclops' culture's weird beauty standards have these two absolutely gorgeous women convinced they're ugly is played for comedy, their situation is actually quite tragic. Their demeanor and attitude upon being asked for by Zel and Stunk demonstrates their culture's beauty standards have been so drilled into them that they can't even entertain the idea that any man, of any species, could ever find them beautiful. And they're sex workers. Given how unhappy they seem with their jobs, and how few customers they say they get, it gives off the impression that they're only there because they don't have any other options of employment. Meaning they're trapped in a dead-end profession that not only doesn't pay well, but which constantly reinforces their crippling low self-esteem.
  • Demia's clones have a limited lifespan of three days. Episode 10 in the anime plays up their disappearance by showing her vanishing from in front of the Reviewers one by one, complete with their tearful reactions. However, it's not all sadness, as the bright side is that, according to Crim, the clones will remember their customers, so if they come back, the Demia clones will remember them.
  • The scene where Meidri realizes through implication that the Reviewers made sex golems in her likeness, just so they could know what sex with her would be like. Her rage is Played for Laughs, but she feels genuinely betrayed that people she considers her friends treated her like just another sexual conquest, even though they know her feelings about their advances. After she kicks all their asses (including Crim's), the Reviewers take the lesson to heart that there are some lines you just don’t cross.
  • Chapter 38 takes a poignant turn with a glimpse into Zel's memories, as he goes all the way back to the time he was Mitsue's first ever customer and even remembers when Ivy was just a sprout and the previous waitress Wavy was still present. Mitsue's closing lines at the end of the chapter, about Zel's lessons to her coming to a close, make it sound like she's contemplating her retirement after over 3 decades.
  • One of the three bonus manga chapters included with the Blu-Ray release of the anime has an elf succu-girl talk about how she had gotten used to marrying human men, and how she always ended up mourning them when she inevitably outlived them. It then hits you with Mood Whiplash by talking about how she ended up so used to human-patterned sex drives that she ended up becoming a succu-girl so she wouldn't end up being widowed again if she remarried while being able to indulge her taste in human men.
  • Chapter 65, which sees the Reviewers helping Zel to clean out the Porn Stash of his late friend's bedroom, ends on a somber note, with Zel quietly honoring his friend's memory and pouring one out over his grave. It's a reminder that as a long-lived elf, Zel has seen many of his human friends grow old and die before him.
