While the author has declared that he won't be making the series Angsty, there are many parts that tug at your heartstrings.
- At the end of Bad Breakup, after going through a couple of days pretending she and Danny had broken up, Sam reveals that she had thought about what would've been like if it had actually happened...and found herself sobbing as a result.
- Sam's breakdown in Trial By Fire. She's just harmed Danny with her newfound and out of control fire powers as well as remembered what she did under Undergrowth's control back in "Urban Jungle". All she thinks she can do is run for the Ghost Zone to avoid hurting anyone else and by the time Danny's found her, she's in a Troubled Fetal Position and convinced she's a monster. Her breaking down sobbing in Danny's arms is a gutpunch.
- From A Family Matter, Danielle finally breaks down in Maddie's arms, sobbing all those years of isolation and loneliness that she had into the arms around her. Really hits home that despite how strong she was, she was still just a lost child too.
- Burner's backstory from "Overheated". In life, he was an orphan boy who was practically adopted by a mechanic, only to end up getting killed in a motorcycle accident, after which, his ghost remained in his salvage yard, being the only home he ever had. Adding to that, the mechanic that was like a father to him had a heart attack and, despite Burner calling the paramedics, it was too late to save him. Finally, following the mechanic's death, the salvage yard was threatened to be bulldozed by a man seeking to use it as a political move. Danny felt so bad for the guy that he let him remain in the salvage yard rather than send him to the Ghost Zone.
