    Stranded
  • Star breaking down in tears on the island is noted. While she has been a Jerkass Woobie, she utter devastation and being hopelessly out of her element is rather sad.
  • During their argument in the cave, after Star berates Danny about his friends and their flaws, Danny tells her that while his friends are flawed, they are good people whom he trusts. When he asks her if she can say the same about HER friends, Star is unable to answer. After he leaves, she silently cries in the realization of it all.
  • Star seemed rather sad after she and Danny part ways in the end.

    Trapped
  • Star is shown to have become uncomfortable with the A-listers' ways and how she has to hide her interests and friendship with Valerie, who seems to be Star's only friend that genuinely cares about her.

    Lost
  • Star's home life is rather sad in hindsight. Her parents divorced due to her mom running away with another man, who she had another child with. Star also has to deal with a mean step-sister who is cruel to her and her mother's vapidness warped her at a young age. In hindsight, Star's former bitterness isn't so surprising anymore.
  • Stella is more of a Jerkass Woobie, but her devastation over Star's disappearance and Johnathan's threat of cutting her out of Star's life is rather sad. She even cried for most of the night next to the phone, waiting for news of Star being found, which is also rather heartbreaking.

    Sunk
  • Star is devastated when her gift to Danny (a model shuttle) got broken in the battle with Vlad.

    Stuck
  • While handcuffed and stuck in the caves, Sam explains that aside from being jealous that Star is dating Danny, the main reason that Sam can't stand her is because of all the mean things Star did to her and her friends when she was the Beta Bitch. She also points out that even after dating Danny, Star never even apologized for any of the mean things she had done. Star realizes that Sam is right and has a Jerkass Realization.

     Found
  • Dani's entire situation. Homeless, hiding from Vlad and also dealing with a persistent robot after her. You can't help but feel sorry for the poor little ghost girl.
  • The ending is rather bittersweet, as Dani leaves due to needing to hide from Vlad. However, it avoids being a Downer Ending thanks to Danny, Star and the rest of the team finding her a place to stay, food, money and other necessities, as well as Danny promising that she will have a place in their family once they've dealt with Vlad for good.

     Bonding
  • Star and Stella's strained relationship. Despite Stella's best attempts, she and her daughter no longer have as much in common as they used to.
  • Stella breaking down due to the dinner being ruined counts. Despite how annoying and self-centered she can be, she truly just wanted to bond with her daughter and get along with Danny's family.
  • The ending of chapter 13. Despite having a strained relationship, Johnathan and Stella show concern for each other's lives, which causes the two of them to finally make peace with each other and try to get along for their daughter's sake. However, while they're implied to still have feelings for each other, it is clear that they have no interest in getting back together—too many bad things have happened between them and they have both moved on, with Stella happy in her second marriage. Nonetheless, they regret how their relationship ended and know there's nothing they can do to change it. On a more positive note though, Johnathan and Stella have made amends, and it's implied once they forgive each other, they become friends.

     Forgotten
  • Star's devastation when an amnesiac Danny "left her" and for Colette of all people is truly heartbreaking to watch. She legitimately breaks down in tears and feels that it was her fault due to the fight they had earlier. Thankfully, Sam and Tucker manage to explain what's really happening and snap her out of her misery for the time being.

     Unprepared
  • Star's flashback to when she first met Jean-Luc and Colette definitely counts. Despite still being upset about the divorce, Star still tried to give them a chance. And what does she get in return? She ends up with a snobby step-father who barely notices her and an abusive step-sister who would mistreat her for years to come. You can't help but want to give the poor girl a hug for this.
  • Johnathan being disappointed in Star for how she treated Solene. It causes Star to have a Jerkass Realization, as it soon hits her that her paranoia and jealousy almost ended up ruining her father's chance at happiness again. She becomes devastated and filled with guilt for her actions, resolving to make things right.
    • Even worse as Johnathan seemed to fall into a depression after Solene left, showing that he really did like her. This makes Star see just how much she messed up.
  • You can't help but feel sorry for Solene here. Star kept assuming that she was up to no good and giving her the cold shoulder, but Solene was a Sheep in Sheep's Clothing who just wanted to get along with her, and she was genuinely hurt when Star snapped at her and said that she didn't like her.
    • Solene admits that due to her career and many commitments, she doesn't have much time for a love life and meeting Johnathan was by chance.

     Cursed
  • Star being turned into a swan by a vindictive Ghost Writer is upsetting, especially when it happens during her first Valentine's day with Danny.

     Dressed
  • Stella's devastation when Star yells at her and calls her out for being an overbearing Stage Mom counts.
  • Spectra implies that Stella isn't as happy as she presents herself and indulges in luxuries to fill the hole in her life due to her regrets over her past choices and distant relationship with her new family.

     Visited
  • Johnathan and Stella both have a nightmare after Stella's horrible mother Beatrice visits. Johnathan dreams about Beatrice taking Star away to mold her into what Beatrice deems is a "proper lady", aka someone far more like Beatrice herself. Stella's is arguably worse as she has a nightmare about Star going on to have a family with Danny... one that Stella isn't part of because of her inability to stand up to her mother. The two have their faults and issues, especially with each other, but the stories do show that they love their daughter dearly and are terrified at the thought of being cast out of her life.
    • These nightmares show just how much harm Beatrice has really inflicted on her family, going from simply an obnoxious relative to a source of outright trauma for some of her relatives.

     Envied

     Snowed
  • Unlike in canon, Danny's misery and anger over his parent's Christmas feud is treated seriously, and while Star spends most of the day trying to cheer him up, it comes crashing down as his parents continue to fight and nearly injure him in the process...and still don't even notice him. He nearly breaks down in tears as a result. Star is heartbroken for him and yells at the Fentons on his behalf.
    • However, after regaining some composure, Danny finally tells his parents how he really feels and unlike in TFBC, he doesn't let them miss his point and verbally lashes at them for how ridiculous they are being, with Jazz, Star and even some of the neighbors joining in.

     Empowered
  • Star's insecurity over gaining weight is rather upsetting, especially since it seems to stem from the after-effects of her A-listers days, who were very strict about maintaining a shallow and stereotypical view on looks. It shows that even if Star has improved as a person, Paulina and Dash's toxic influence may still have some effect on her, even if she doesn't realize it.

     Traveled
  • Stella basically becomes The Woobie after running into her former mother-in-law, Joy Strong, who still holds a grudge against her for leaving Johnathan (Joy's son) and abandoning Star (Joy's granddaughter). It's especially sad since before the divorce, Stella and Joy had gotten along famously, with Stella even looking up to Joy as the mother that she had always wanted.
    • It becomes even more heartbreaking when Joy gives an epic "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Stella and reveals that she never even liked her in the first place, only acting nice to her to please Johnathan. Such a reveal nearly drives Stella to tears, as she genuinely did love and respect Joy and has been feeling tremendous guilt due to her actions. Even the Fentons, Solene and Johnathan felt sorry for Stella and call Joy out on her harshness.

  • Kirk and Jonathan's argument in chapter 24 is a mixture of this and Heartwarming too. While they were searching for the kids, the tension between them raise as the both deal with their issues with each other, which causes them to argue. Johnathan reveals that he is resentful that his father would not let go of the fact that he chose not to follow in his footsteps and become a mechanic, for not becoming a mirror image of his father and (from Johnathan's perspective) how he isn't proud of the fact that Johnathan now works as a successful lawyer or grateful for all the gifts he send his parents. Kirk fired back that he never asked for those gifts and he and his wife never needed them and he feels those gifts are handouts for excuses not to see him and his wife. Jonathan fires back that his knew he had been busy with work and had other commitments that he couldn't cancel, and that he did indeed want to visit them but couldn't at the time.
    • They soon get into the real reason why there's relationship is strained, Kirk reveals that he feels that his son is prioritizing his work over spending time with their family and his resentful for him for moving away into a ghost town instead of staying in New York. Kirk admits that he was ALWAYS proud of Johnathan, and that he made peace with him not following his footsteps years ago, and that he was always proud of the man his son has become. He admits that he NEVER wanted to make his son into his carbon copy, but in fact has always hoped that his son would become better than him.
    • He admits that what he truly wanted was to bond with him and spend time with him, Joy and Star together as a family. Kirk even admitted that he should've told Jonathan this but his pride prevented him from doing that. It's heartbreaking to think that their relationship was so strained because of a misunderstanding.

     Barked
  • Fifi's home life is quite sad. Despite being a prized show dog, and living in the lap of luxury, she isn't very happy due to not even wanting to be a show dog but does so to please Stella. Even so, she lives a very restrictive lifestyle and has few chances to behave as a real dog, especially with Jean-Luc's harshness and strictness towards her. You can't help but wanna give the sweet little pooch a hug.
  • Cujo and Fifi's sadness at being separated after the Bevier's come to collect her for her arranged date with a famous show dog.

     Bewitched
  • Misty's guilt and devastation after being free from Wufong's influence and seeing the consequences of her actions.
  • Mei's Jerk Ass Realization once she realizes how her actions truly affected her children, especially her daughter.
  • Mei finally revealing her Dark and Troubled Past and what really happened with Misty's father.
