In Castlevania 64 and Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, when you play as Reinhardt you get to know a female vampire named Rosa, who against all of Reinhardt's expectations as a vampire killer, is a noble and kind woman who suffers because she is forced to exist as a cursed vampire. She even attempts to kill herself by stepping into the sunlight, from which Reinhardt saves her... Only for Rosa to be controlled later by Death and made to fight Reinhardt. Her soul seems lost, until you fight Death, whereupon Rosa shields Reinhardt with her body from Death's attacks. Dying in Reinhardt's arms, she wonders if God will ever forgive her. Reinhardt prays for her salvation and God's forgiveness, places a crucifix in her hands and she dies in Reinhardt's arms. Thankfully, if you get the Good ending, just as Reinhardt despairs over the unending cycle of war against Dracula despite his victory over the Vampire Lord, Rosa is materialized, having been resurrected and cured from her curse. Reinhardt and Rosa then get to have a kind of Happily Ever After ending.
Carrie has endured a world of emotional pain for a poor 12 year old little girl. Not only has she had her real family taken from her, she witnessed her stepmother being killed by an angry mob, sacrificing herself that Carrie may live.
Not a tearjerker for herself, but Actrise's account of how she achieved her power. She killed her own child as a sacrifice to Dracula, then killed 99 more children. She mocks Carrie's horrified expression when she tells her this, likening it to the expression her own child had when she killed them.
Carrie's second encounter with Actrise, she forces her to fight Camilla Fernandez, her cousin with similar powers who had also come to the Castle to kill Dracula some time before the events of the game. She was captured alive, bitten and suffered long and hard before finally succumbing to the curse, and now she is a puppet for Dracula and Actrise. After Carrie is forced to kill her, she laments that she was unable to save her, and hopes Camilla will join her stepmother in Heaven once Carrie destroys Dracula.
There's also the fact that Camilla Fernandez was originally intended to be Sypha Belnades from Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse herself. Undecided if that makes it better or worse. Since III took place in the 1400s and 64 takes place in the mid 19th century, she was probably intended to be the desecrated remains of Sypha or an evil copy á la Symphony of the Night. Dracula seems to really like mocking the memory of Trevor, Sypha and Grant.
Charlie Vincent's fate in the bad ending. Take too long to reach Castle Center from the Villa, and Charlie will confront you near the endgame, turned into a vampire. As you deplete his health, he starts bombarding you with Unholy Water grenades in a frenzy, but completely empty his lifebar and he will douse himself with real Holy Water, immolating himself in anguish at what he has become.
