  • At the end of Episode 2, Michiru yells at Shirou for waiting until the last minute to rescue her and the beastchildren. She then vents at how they were close to being shipped off to who knows where because of the selfishness and cruelty of the beastmen. To top it off, she proclaims her hatred for Anima City (a city that she believed was a place of hope for her) and vows to never return when she becomes fully human.
  • In episode 3, we see through Ogami's scent tracking Michiru's story and how she went from ordinary girl to now. Her best friend turned into a Beastman right in front of her and was taken away. While grieving the loss of her friend she suddenly transformed herself. Becoming a shut in for fear of being attacked or taken away she spent months on end in a dark room doing nothing but sitting on her laptop unable to go outside until she found out about Anima City. If the city didn't exist Michiru might have spent the rest of her life as an unwilling hikikomori.
  • At the end of Episode 4, Michiru looks at her Facelook feed to find a post by her mother, from whom she had to run away for her safety since transforming. Her mother not only wishes her a happy birthday, but also shares a photo of a birthday cake she had made for her missing daughter. Michiru is about to respond to the post, but hesitates. The sadness in her sigh as she stares at the message is heartbreaking.
  • Dante's backstory. Through flashbacks, we learn that he was the first beastman to ever participate in a major league baseball team with other humans. To his dismay, he faced constant humiliation and discrimination from the fans and his own teammates who refused to accept him. It reached the point where the stress was too much for Dante resulting in him bashing the other players with his bat. And now we can understand why he drinks so much.
    • In the same episode, Michiru finds out that her teammates were bribed into losing the big game on purpose. As she chastises them, Jackie cries out that they did it because they've always been poor and that they didn't want to go back to being penniless losers. It's a painful picture of what it must be like for the children who have to suffer living in impoverished backgrounds.
  • Episode 6's ending: Despite reuniting with Nazuna, Michiru feels betrayed that her closest friend used her to let the "Church of the Silver Wolf" into Anima City, not helped by Nazuna declaring that "Nazuna" is no more, but that Déesse Louve is the true persona now. This leads to Michiru denouncing her "church" and her and running off, ending with her laying in her bed and looking at a photograph of Nazuna and her, wondering what could have gone so wrong.
    Michiru:...why..?
    • Add to the scene is the song "NIGHT RUNNING" being superimposed, and while it is the anime's outro song, it also serves as a Leitmotif for the pair's friendship.
    • To make it more sad? Michiru spends the rest of the season still trying to amend her friendship with Nazuna, even if Nazuna is stubborn about everything.
  • Shirou's reaction to Michiru possibly leaving Anima City soon. It's clear from his tone and his expression when he asks her if she wants to go back that he doesn't want her to leave, but he can't bring himself to tell her.
  • Shirou's and Michiru's falling out in episode 10. After all the Character Development both of them have gone through and with how close they've grown as friends, it's pretty painful to see them on opposite sides all of a sudden.
  • Shiro’s reaction in episode 12, when he believes he’s accidentally killed Michiru. All he can do is howl in anguish. The mood is lightened however when Michiru wakes up and proceeds to film him, remarking on how beautiful his howl is (or in the Japanese dub, if he can do it again for her).
    • And worse much beforehand? Michiru having to point a gun at him. It's clear she doesn't want to shoot him, but she feels that she has to in order to protect Nazuna.
    • Shiro's meltdown and giving into his own Nirvasil Syndrome and go mad, leaving to the above mentioned scene. And the reason for it? Having a PTSD flashback for when he was cursed.
  • Though it's a touching moment, as every other Beastman regardless of species or sickness starts to howl along with Shirou, Michiru and Nazuna are the only ones who remain silent, as Michiru fully comes to understand they really are not Beastmen nor human.
