• There is a character named "Lidra" in Bone Cliffs, whose father and brother have disappeared in Umbral Caves, it turns out that her brother had not even been killed, rather turned into a monster like one of them, the father's fate is unknown, it hits you pretty hard when you deliver the news to her and she finds out what their ultimate fate was.
• During Ashfall Part II, you meet up with a particularly bubbly Dragon Slayer named Essa. Her story alone is sad enough, as her parents was killed by a dragon, and she, along with her brother, were forced to live in a Dragon Slayer orphanage. After you finish her questline, she praises you for helping the people of Brimston, calling you "something special" ...only to be stabbed in the back by Talyn. Her character really was shown off as a kind human being and it's INCREDIBLY sad when it finally happens.
• The finale of the Ashfall saga. Galanoth goes into full Revenge Before Reason mode, refusing to let you and Kord take Talyn out because he wants revenge against Akriloth, despite how much devastation the dragon will bring to Lore if he gets loose. After defeating Talyn, the evil Dragonlord is killed by Akriloth himself, who sends him right into the lava. After a showdown with Galanoth, Akirloth turns his wrath upon the Hero and Kord, and Galanoth sacrifices himself to save them and allow them to destroy Akriloth forever. Kord, knowing that the Dragonslayer order cannot go on without Galanoth, takes up Galanoth's weapons, armor and identity, becoming the new Galanoth.
• In Boog's Inn, Anne's husband is seen lying on the ground dying. Morgul informs her that he's the victim of a vampire attack and nothing can be done to save him. Her husband then transforms into a vampire ghoul in front of everyone and the Hero is forced to put him down. A heartbroken Anne then finds out her son, Wes, is missing, having gone out of the Inn to fight the vampires himself.
