James A. Janisse is clearly a Pop-Cultured Badass and a really big geek. He loves to pepper in all kinds of references in his Kill Counts.

  • In the same film, when Janet gets her shoelace caught in an escalator, James angrily quotes Brodie's escalator tirade at her. It continues into her premonition death in said escalator, where James says that the escalator "finally gives us the bloodbath that was promised".

    Re Animator
References in the Re-Animator kill counts.
  • During the scene where Dan and Herbert West are searching the basement for the reanimated cat, James notes how the basement’s only light is swinging around like a character from The Brave Little Toaster.

    Predator
References in the Predator kill counts.
