• Back to the Future:
  • Izuku quotes Back to the Future III to Melissa (Seamus's speech about how Marty could have ignored Buford), after she stops him from responding to Bakugou's provokations. Moments later he deflects Bakugou's attack, splashing whip cream on the bully. Izuku then comments "It was no wagon of manure, but we work with what we have."
• DC Comics:
  • Toshinori thinks that he is "looking for any trouble as the day broke out of the dark of night" and decides it might make a decent Batman pun. Then dismisses it because the Japanese media generally doesn't care about old, American comics.
  • One of the kids Melissa and Izuku escort for Halloween is dressed as The Joker.
• Doctor Who:
  • Tommy tells Melissa, Izuku, and Toshinori that the Ranger's FTL communications run off a subwave network of the Morphin' Grid.
• Fate Series:
  • Darkonda uses a Bounded Field to make sure he can defeat Izuku (not knowing that Izuku was not as strong as the Rangers of old).
• Independence Day:
  • Bakugou asks Izuku "You think you can do all that bullshit you just said?" when Izuku says he is going to get into UA's Hero Course.
  • Melissa says "Genius. My boyfriend is a genius" when Izuku states the simple solution.
• Megas XLR:
  • When Izuku is fretting over being able to summon a Zord, the theme song is quoted:
  Tommy: I get it, Izuku. You dig giant robots.
  Toshinori: We dig giant robots.
  Melissa (seductively): Chicks dig giant robots.
  Tommy (sarcastically): Nice.
• The Neverending Story:
  • Like Bastion, Izuku runs into an antique store to hide from bullies, and finds a magical trinket that changes his life.
• Planet of the Apes:
  • The stolen name used by the doctor who gave Aoyama Yuga his Quirk was "Dr Zeyasu" (Dr Zaius)
• Pokémon:
  • The first time she calls one of her Zords, Melissa says "Terrapin Tank, I choose you."
• Predator:
  • Izuku thinks Psycho Pink's monster form has "a face that was a cross between a flower and a Yautja". Melissa then calls the Shadow "one ugly motherf..."
• Sailor Moon:
  • Mizuno Ami appears as one of Izuku's classmates in Aldera.
  • A reporter on the Kashyyyk mall attack is a tall, green eyed brunette named Kino Makoto.
• Sherlock Holmes:
  • Referenced by Nezu; "When you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth".
• Star Trek:
  • In Zedd's store, Izuku finds a Beetleborgs VHS. He thinks it sounds Scandinavian.
  • Melissa's Halloween costume is a Next Generation captain's uniform and Vulcan ear prosthetics.
  • Izuku explains that Captain Picard in the new Star Trek movies has a telepathy Quirk as a reference to the original Picard also playing Professor X.
  • When setting up the holographic training room, Tommy says, ""Program complete. "You may enter when ready."
• Star Wars: This fic has many of the Star Wars references from My Hero canon, but with these in addition.
  • In chapter 2, a certain former Emperor of Evil and Izuku have a familiar exchange:
  Zack: "Lord Zedd. Now, that's a name I haven't heard in a long time..."
  Izuku: "You know him?"
  Zack (amused): "Of course I know him. He's me. Or at least, who I used to be."
  • Chapter 6 describes Rhian as angry enough to 'rip the arms off' anyone stupid enough to talk to her.
  • Chapter 9, Nezu says that Izuku was born in Bakuta Hospital. ^note Bacta is a healing substance in the Star Wars universe.
  • Nezu claims "I am fluent in over sixteen form of communication."
  • After a mysterious transmission asking for Izuku claims to be the Red Space Ranger, Tommy tells the team, "It's an older code. But it checks out."
• Voltron:
  • The activation sequence for the device to create Melissa's power coin includes "Activating interlocks", "Dynotherms connected", and "Infracells up", though each line is said by a different person.
• Wiz Biz:
  • In chapter nine, Nezu says he starting to accept that magic is real. Tommy quips "Unless declared integer". Nezu gets the reference. Melissa gets the joke, but doesn't know the source.
• Yu-Gi-Oh!:
  • In Chapter 18, Izuku says to Nekotora "I challenge you to a duel!", which she replies by saying "A duel? But all my decks are at home".
