• At the beginning of Abe's Oddysee, Abe learns to his horror that his people are going to be secretly turned into processed food.
• The end of the recap of Abe's Exoddus has a card that reads "Ya cheap bastich!"
• In the same game during the Paramonia section, one of the traps Abe has to contend with is a giant rolling boulder. This reappears in Soulstorm, but now the boulder is on fire!
• The appearance of the Glukkons was based on the villainous Teacher character from the movie The Wall.
• In New 'n' Tasty!, when you make a native Mudokon get stung by bees, they'll sometimes cry "No, not the bees! Not the bees!"
• Also in New 'n' Tasty!, Sligs can sometimes be heard singing "If I only had a bomb" to the tune of "If I Only Had a Brain" from The Wizard of Oz.
• Firefly messages can be found reading "RUN ELUM RUN", a nod to the famous "Run, Forrest, run!" line from Forrest Gump.
• Elum is clearly inspired by Yoshi from the Super Mario Bros. series.
• In Soulstorm, Blastos is an incredibly obvious one to Mentos, including the results if you mix it with a certain soft drink.
  • Blastos may also be a reference to another PlayStation game that released around the same time.
• In Soulstorm, swooping Sligcopters may crow something about "protocol twenty-three-nineteen".
