There are a number of Shout Outs in Green Tea Rescue, some of which are listed below:
- Chapter 19's title is If You Can Dodge a Wrench.... Fitting, given that the Sports Festival's first event is about the students dodging balls and avoiding getting hit.
- Izuku using his telekinesis as a shield is an explicit reference to Harry Dresden's shield, including how it doesn't work so well against heat.
- In the final round, Present Mic describes Izuku like so: "his bright green glow shines like a lantern in the blackest night"
- When Eri guesses that Toshinori is All Might, Izuku thinks that All Might should wear some glasses while in his civilian form, because glasses are a foolproof disguise.
- Gum-Gum Fruit is a brand of candy in this universe, and there's a Pro Hero named Wonka in the U.S.
- Chapter 29:
- Mirko asked Ochako why she's here. Ochako replies that's one of life's greatest mysteries.
- Izuku's new costume comes with a special crest he wears on his forehead, replacing his cowl. The crest is shaped like an elongated pentagon. The shape is inspired by the crests seen on Gundam's as the author is a fan of Gunpla model kits. The green aura bangs the crest helps create, while in story are supposed to mimic All Might's hair, are also inspired by the gold V-Fin usually attached to the crest.
- In Chapter 31, Himiko says, "I'm being very polite. I'm being very polite letting you keep all your limbs right now. I am very pissed at you." This is a reference to Team Four Star's Cell vs Deadpool video.
- Izuku hides One for All by claiming it's a new super move similar to Tactile Telekinesis following the fight with Stain.
- Ochako checks out a copy of a martial arts book written by Hanzo Hasashi.
- In chapter 37's flashforward, the principal of Somei Academy is named Splinter, he looks "more like a rat than a man", and has four sons. And if the reference wasn't heavy enough, we have this exchange:Toga: Oh, by the way. How are the quadruplets? I heard they’re finally coming out of their shells.
Principal Splinter: They’re fine, thank you for asking. Much more active now, they play Ninja all day and love to sneak around and try to scare me. And they’re growing fast too. I swear someone mixed in some toxic waste or something with all the pizza they eat. - At the end of Chapter 40, Re-Destro bids Izuku and Ochako farewell by saying that "[they'll] watch [their] careers with great interest."
- In Chapter 46, when discussing the matchups for the final exam, the teachers and the guest heroes convene in a bar called Stan’s Place. They also comment on the price of water.
- When Star and Stripe makes her appearance on I-Island, Izuku relates an in-universe fan theory that she was created from an US government attempt to clone All Might, but that the Y-chromosome was damaged in the process, so the scientists instead copied the X-chromosome twice.
- Also from Chapter 51, All Might and Star and Stripe greet each other with a superpowered version of Dutch and Dillon's Crushing Handshake from Predator.
